Patient Medication Update Use Case describes how you create a message template that notifies a patient to take a specific medication using text, audio and slides. Calendaring Nurses Schedules Use Case describes how to use OnCast Desktop to manage the nurses’ schedules. Patient Notification Use Case describes how to use OnCast Desktop for patient notification. Patient Meal Survey Use Case describes how you create a survey message that lets patients select breakfast items they want to eat from the range of foods they are permitted to eat. Patient Medication Update Use Case This use case describes how you using OnCast Desktop to create a message template that notifies a patient to take a specific medication using text, audio and slides. Step 1 Begin in Microsoft Outlook and click Calendar to open the Calendar window. Double click the time and date when the patient is supposed to take medication to open the New Appointment window, for example, double click 3:30PM. Step5Modifytheworkflowandaddtwomorebuttons–onelabeledNurse,theotherlabeledHELP!Aworkflowletsrecipientsrespondtoamessage,forexample,tomakeaselectionorrequestmoreinformation.TodesignthebuttonlabeledNurse,click+ontheworkflowbaratthebottomofthewindowtodisplay.Clickthebuttontoopentheworkflowmenu,thenclickDialtoopentheInstantWorkflowwindowforDial.

TypeNurseforthecaption,typethenurse’sphoneextensioninthePhoneNumberfield,thenclick.TodesignthebuttonlabeledHELP!,click+ontheworkflowbartoinsertclickthebuttontoopentheworkflowmenu,clickDialtoopentheworkflowmenu,changethecaptiontoHelp!,thentypethemainnurses’deskphoneextensioninthePhoneNumberfield.

Clicktoclosethewindow.Thisinsertstwobuttonsintheworkflow.Step6Clicktosavethetemplate.Thissavesthebroadcast,closestheLiteScapeOnCastwindow,andreturnyoutotheTakeyourlipitorAppointmentwindowshowingthebroadcastsavedintheappointment.

What the patient does Whenthecallcomesthroughonthepatient’sIPphone,theannouncementaudiofileisplayed,andthesurveyquestions–inthiscasethechoicesforbreakfast–aredisplayedwithlinesrunningtokeysontherightsideofthedisplay.Therecipientcanpressakeytoacknowledgetheirchoice.Thisissentbyemailtothepersonwhobroadcastthemessage.
