Acknowledgements
To my friends who entrusted me with their personal experiences navigating Rainbow Road.
To Linda Arnold, Naz Hedayat and Alicia Hamilton who taught me there are no mistakes in life —only miss-takes and to learn from them, one step a time, one day a time.
To Caelan McKamey, who completed every task. Whether it sprinkled or spattered it didn’t matter; all I had to do was ask.
To Kirk Orlando, who helped me find work while hiking through Willow Woods.
To Evelyn Rozenfeld, your friendship will never be forgotten.
To Ozzy, Poppy Blu, and Paisley Roux, too, who kept me company all those long nights writing.
Thank You
You will never regret being kind.
Chapter 1
Bikes and Kites
Winter had become a bit glum.
Spring had sprung.
One would have thought it was April, but there
were no more showers, only sprinkles and
spatters to water the flowers.
So, it must have been May that day.
There was a warm breeze rustling through the
trees.
Change was here, just like it comes every year. It
was an ordinary day. Nothing extraordinary had
happened —yet.
