Autumn
Oh how I love autumn.
I remember one summer in particular
I waited in great anticipation
For the arrival of my favorite season.
It was the hottest summer ever,
And to past the time I sat on the stoop.
I tried to imagine the cool days,
Warm colors that paint the perfect picture,
A special gift from God.
Now every day I cherish and love,
Autumn!
In a Dark Place
Just the other morning I turned on the radio,
Then I turned on the TV,
And when I checked out the scene on social media,
By the afternoon I had concluded,
That we have become
A society that is without compassion,
But by the end of the day,
A random act of kindness
Restored my hope, in all of mankind.
This I took as a sign,
There were people,
Who were compelled to love,
And see the necessity of love,
Along with all of its value.
I thank you kind sir,
With the deepest of sincerity,
For being a light that I could see.

All the years that were stolen,
At times causes the blood,
