ALIVE
M emory can be planted
Personality can be modified
Loyalty can be bred
Evil can be cured
The balance is gone
No order, no chaos
Without duality and conflict
Are we still alive?
MOUTHPIECE
I am just the mouthpiece
Of whatever higher power had
Taken over me
Dionysus, when I am intoxicated
Phobos, when I am intimidated
Aphrodite, when I am aroused
For most of my life, though,
Hephaestus, for I am envious,
marginalized, unwanted, and betrayed.
A PERMA-DEAD UNDEAD IS A GOOD UNDEAD
“D on’t let your moral slow you down
No shame to cut the undead down
We are not killing; we’re safeguar ding
We are cleansing for the li ving
We aren’t merciless butc hers
We are restless clea ners.
Remember th ough:
If you hate it, you are weak
If you like it, you are a f reak.
Either way,
Havoc is what we w reak.”
ALONE
D on’t mistake loneliness for freedom
For freedom without responsibility
is merely self-banishment
Solitude is not an aptitude.
It is stories without tellers
Songs without singers
Flames without wind or water
A beginning without ending
Its pathetic bearer
Crumbles, Shatters, Scatters
Though at night,
Surrounded by the crowd
Still nameless
Like a blown dandelion in wind

ARTIFACT FROM THE DISTANT PAST
A rtifact from the distant past
Its flesh dying upon its cradle
Without noticing
Veins grew into wires
Bones cased in alloy
The heart still beats,
In the cage made of deformed bones
Covered by elastic skin

A living, dreaming object
Dreaming of a future from the past
A relic of blood and flesh
Metal and
A reminder of our ignorance
We cannot begin to fathom
To those who came before us and vanished
What is the nature of this horrid action?
Consecration?
Incarceration?
AUTHORITY
S tories, with a shape;
Power, with a form;
Control, with a name.
BE LIKE WATER
W ater is everything
It taketh. It giveth
It preserves, it corrodes
It dyes and it dilutes
It cleanses, and it stains
It nourishes; it drowns
It is unchanging
Yet goes through everything
Enables them with the power of change
