Description

This is my threat. I could put that book to the side and start a new book. About you! Yeah that's right. I'll said how you can't fill your father shoes. And how you only became a doctor to make mommy happy. And I'll write how you really wanted to become a dancer and start traveling around the country doing shows. And I'll write how you love to pick your nose and kill other's emotions.

Introduction by A. G. Harrison

Introduction

From the time human felt the necessity to communicate, he realized the value of the written word and wrote by drawing on cave walls, clay tablets, stones, papyrus, parchment, paper, and today, with the development of technology, he has created e-books.

The object "book" is classified in industrial products, but at the same time it is a cultural good. Personally, I emphasize both of its dimensions, but mainly in its cultural dimension. I consider the book to be the most important expression of culture because quite simply, in addition to being the same work of art, it supports all other expressions of culture.

As an industrial product, through the many stages of its creation and before it reaches the hands of the reader, it financially supports a wide range of professions, such as writers, philologists, translators, designers, publishers, paper merchants, printing houses, bookbinders, distributors and, finally, bookstores… Let us not forget, of course, that today it also greatly supports the huge online market industry.

The governments of many countries, studying and delving into the economic benefits of the book, have invested and supported this industry in various ways, which flourished and offered them great financial gains.

Starting with the Sumerians, Babylonians and other peoples of Mesopotamia, who wrote on clay tablets, Egyptians and Romans, who wrote on papyrus, the Jews on parchment, the evolution with handwritten books images in the Middle Ages in Europe, the creation of the first wooden typographic elements and paper by the Chinese, who printed the first books, the discovery of metallic elements by the German Johannes Gutenberg during the Renaissance and the really rapid development of printing in 1450 until 1456 and, finally, during the 19th-20th century the Industrial Revolution, which makes the production of the book flourish are some examples of the value of the written word.

The agony and effort of all these civilized societies, over time, in various parts of the world, teaches us that the book is an integral part of human existence.

Throughout this course the book records and transports from the depths of the centuries ancient civilizations, which teach us about the mistakes that we can avoid or imitate the achievements of our ancestors and adopt timeless principles and values, supplies for survival. but also the evolution of the human species.

By reading a book, we have the opportunity to create with our imagination the heroes of history, landscapes, various objects, etc. In the pages of a book, the author, in addition to his study, research, experiences, also expresses his feelings. He makes us members of his own world and gives us the opportunity to learn.

It helps us to acquire knowledge but also to enrich our vocabulary, improving our own writing.

It contributes to our mental alertness, increases the ability to focus, improves our memory, helps to develop our analytical mental abilities, entertains us, calms us down and helps reduce stress.

Of course, apart from the importance of touch and contact with a hot material, reading a quality book contributes significantly and decisively to our self-education, the cultivation of critical thinking, the upgrading of our aesthetics and consequently contributes to our quality of life.

It conveys art, informs, cultivates the spirit and the soul, elevates intelligence, finds solutions to problems, conveys messages, circulates ideas, forms consciences.

I hope my books convey a message of personal experiences and you could find segments of your own truth as well.

Thank you in advance for being here and being ready to start reading.

“What!” Hunter yelled. “If you’re all in, then I am all in.”

“I am all in to!” George said pushing in all his chips.

“What about you Jill. Rookie. Think you can outsmart the smartest?” Miss Jefferies said trying to lure Jill in.

“Oh, I am going all in. But first. Hunter you lost! You only have a pair of 10s. Jefferies only has a three of a kind, that’s not going to cut it. Charlie had a 6, 8 but should have stayed in, he would have cough the flush.” Jill said as the table feel silent.

“This can’t be happening. Who are you? Are you from outer space?” Hunter asked.

“No, I am the winner.” Jill said turning over a straight flush.

“But we didn’t have time to open the whiskey.” Miss Jefferies said saddened more about the drinks then the money.

“I didn’t have time to start bullshitting.” George said.

“You guys can buy back in.” Jill said piling up her money.

“What are you crazy!?” George yelled.

“Yeah, you crazy?” Hunter added.

“She’ll just take that money too.” Hunter yelled.

“What about you Miss Jefferies?” Jill asked.

“Honey, I didn’t bring any buy back money with me. I never do.” She answered.

“Why not?” Jill asked.

“Because this is the first time I ever lost. Good night dear, and thanks for keeping the night young. I think I’ll go home and lick my wounds and read from the good book.” Miss Jefferies said tipping her hat to the table as she started her long walk out the small room walked out.

“What part are you going to read tonight?” Jill asked Miss Jefferies as she stopped to fit her coat.

“Tonight is a great night for Corinthians 10.13.” Miss Jefferies said with a pleasant nod to Jill. “You reading the good book yourself?”

“Yes.” Jill said wide eyed and scared to omit it in the open.

“Tonight read, Proverbs 10-4. It seems you and Jesus would have played one hell of a game together. ” Miss Jefferies said with her final exit.

“Charlie! You want to finish this game at home?” Jill asked.

All Charlie could do was smile.

“Are you taking off too George?” Hunter asked filing the chips.

“Yeah. I am going home, licking my wounds and writing a good book.” George said getting up from the table defeated for the 634 time in a row.

“George you want to walk back with us?” Charlie asked walking Jill to the door.

“Sure.” George said following closely.

“Good night Hunter.” Jill said holding her money tight in her hand.

“Bye guys.” Hunter said thinking about what to do with the rest of his night.

“Ok. How did you do that?” George asked as the three walked down the center of the dark dirt road.

“It’s just a gift.” Jill answered.

“Was Charlie in on it?” George asked.

“No. I do it by myself.” Jill answered.

“Can I get in? Work as pairs.” George asked.

“No. I work alone.” Jill said.

“Ok. Well just tell me how you do it so I can try.” George asked.

“Ok. I tell you only once, so listen good. Hunter lifts his cards a little too high when checking for a raise, if you look quickly you could see his cards, but only for a second. And only before the raise. Now Charlie has a bad habit of folding on the first hand. Always did. He can’t break the habit. This man will fold with pocket ace’s if it is the first hand. And for Miss Jefferies, her cards are reflected off her glasses.” Jill said as George took mental notes.

“What about me? How did you know I was bluffing?” George asked.

“Do you want the truth?” Jill asked.

“Yeah. If it makes me a better player.” George answered.

“It won’t! You stink! You start to blink and move your fingers, your forehead gets red and sweetie. You start adjusting your seat five hundred time a minute and you look at every one like there ghost. All signs of a bluffer.” Jill said as she stopped walking and closed her eyes.

“Are you ok?” Charlie asked quickly attending his wife.

“No. My stomach hurts real bad all of a sudden. I think I am going to throw up.” Jill said as Charlie walked her to the side of the road and in to the woods.

George looked on from the road as Jill started to throw up.

“That does not sound good.” George said turning away.

“Do you think it was Charlie’s cooking?” George asked as Charlie came out of the woods caring Jill.

“You’re funny George.” Jill said with a smile.

“Just take deep breaths. That always worked for me.” George said as they began their walk home again.

“Stop! Take me in the woods!” Jill yelled pointing between the large maples lining the road.

George sat off to the side of the road while Jill threw up for the next five minutes.
