Description

Hatred is a tough monster to kill, as Harold soon discovers the moment he realizes that his war against the cartels is morphing into a never-ending vigilante mission.

There is a lot to be said about the devastation that the cartels bring into human existence. But Harold Brandon, drug-lord-turned-minister-turned-contractor-turned-vigilante, is not about to sit idly by and let them continue.

They need to be stopped.

This brings him to the Yucatan peninsula in southern Mexico, where he sets his eyes on a blood-thirsty Don and his equally murderous wife.

The ruthless couple has had a tight, lethal hold on the region, inflicting unspeakable horrors to locals and to those who stand in their way.

Now with a team of equally competent men, Harold seeks to bring hellfire on these vicious rulers and finally end their reign of terror.

But, with all the odds stacked against one man and his team, will they even survive long enough to see the light of day?

Find out for yourself in "Operation Yucatan Cartel: Harold Brandon's War Against the Cartels", the third installment to the bestselling "Code Name: The Fox" series by prolific author Dr. Hal Bradley, DD!

PROLOGUE: MERIDA’, YUCATAN PENINSULA
My contact here in Merida’ is named Gregorio. He has an inside contact in the Agular-Bonilla Cartel with a member that has a disgruntled personality directed towards his bosses. You see, he thinks he’s better than they give him credit for so he’s looking for a little side action. He’s my “in” …. and I’m his executioner; he just doesn’t know it yet. Here comes the storm, and I am the weatherman!
Harold Brandon….
CHAPTER ONE: CHINA’S GIFT TO AMERICA
A balmy, salty sea breeze is coming off the gulf and dancing through the coastal palms, sending the scent of the seas to blend with the flora and fauna of the inland jungle. Off the coast lies a freighter carrying her cargo to the Port of Houston in Texas. Next to her are a few fishing boats from the Yucatan peninsula swaying in the waves breaking against her tall sides, while their crews catch the bundles being lowered down to the men on the boats. Tonight’s catch isn’t a harvest from the seas; It’s a harvest from China, and its crates of Fentanyl will soon be heading to the processing plants across Mexico. Their final destination: the dealers who feed the addicts in the United States.
The boats arrive in a small coastal community where trucks await to carry the precious cargo further inland to a small airstrip cut out of the jungle just west of the village. A twin-engine Cessna 340 awaits her load that she will be delivering to the State of Sinaloa where her owners await its timely arrival. Once the plane is offloaded, it’s taken by truck to a plant in the foothills just south of Culiacan to begin its process of being converted and packaged for its final destination: Chicago, Illinois, USA.
The escalation of death in the United States is monumental from a mere few years ago and the prospects are grim, unless we can get aggressive and take these cartels down.
That’s where I come in. My name is Harold Brandon and I have started my own war against the cartels. After they raped, tortured, and murdered my wife I left the pulpit arena and took sabbatical from my church responsibilities. This was a journey that God would not approve of, but I had to go through with it. The rage I carried within me and to some extent, I still carry to this day, can only be quenched from making those who thrive on humanities miseries, have a taste of their own, a slow and violent death.
“Gregorio. How you been, man?” “Hola senior Williams. It is good to see you also. We have much to talk about senior; I have been very busy earning the money you paid me to dig into this cartel and their friends.” “Great. Let’s order some lunch and have it brought over to the pool area since there’s hardly anyone over there.” “Esta bien senior, esta bien.”
“Ok. So, what have you got for me?” “I have made a friendship with a member of the Agular-Bonilla Cartel recently. He is not happy with his bosses because he feels he is worth more than they pay him, so I told him I had a connection with a man who would find work for him in this area. A man who is connected to weapons and smuggling resources into the United States. He has agreed to meet you.” “Good work, Gregorio. So, when do we meet this guy?” “Whenever you want, senior. He is here in Merida’ right now. Do you want me to make the call?” “Do it.”
“VINCENZO “VINNIE” NUNEZ”
We agree to hook up with this “Vinnie” guy at a suburb cantina. It’s early afternoon on a hot and muggy day. The people in this area of Merida’ are just above a peasant-level lifestyle with suspicious eyes everywhere observing us entering the cantina, curious as to what we are doing in their neighborhood. By the time we get there Vinnie is already seated at the rear of the cantina in a booth where he can observe whoever walks in. I like it. (Gregorio) “Hola Vinnie. This is my friend senior Williams and his associate, Raphael.” (Shaking hands) “Hi Vinnie. You can call me Mr. Williams; call my associate, Raphael. Thank you for taking the time to meet with me today. Gregorio is a trusted friend and he vouched for you, or we wouldn’t be having this meeting. He said you are a serious man and a man who may be valuable to me down here. Is this true?”
(Vinnie) “Si senior. I like Gregorio and he said you were thinking about expanding your interests in this area. You must know this area is controlled by the Agular-Bonilla Cartel, Yes?” “I do Vinnie. Can I call you Vinnie?” (Nodding yes to me) “Ok. Look, I will be having boats offloading cargo here for me to move cargo further north. Now I do need a few men I can trust, or an introduction to the Agular-Bonilla Cartel to negotiate operations here in the area. So, tell me, senior, which is best for you?” Knowing this could make Vinnie look very important to his bosses by bringing in a man of my caliber he starts weighing his options.”
“Let me ask you something, senior. If I was to come work for you what’s in it for me? Better yet if I make an introduction between you and my boss what’s it worth?” “Those are intelligent questions. Gregorio was right about you, Vinnie. He said you were a smart businessman. I like that.” (Boosting his ego) “So, if you went to work for me, I would start you out at $2,500.00 a month. That’s five hundred more a month than you are being paid right now if Gregorio is correct. Right?” (Vinnie Nods yes) “On the other hand, if you make an introduction and things develop, I will pay you twenty thousand dollars. How does that sound?” (That’s probably more money than he’s ever made at one time) “Give me a day senior Williams. I will make inquiries
and talk to a few people, ok? If they say yes, then I will introduce you to a member of the cartel that controls this area. Ok?” “As I said Vinnie, Gregorio said you were a smart man. Make your calls. Here’s my personal number; call me when arrangements are made and I will give you ten thousand dollars when I meet your associate, and another ten thousand after the first transaction goes down. Agreed?” “Agreed.”
I get a call the following day from Vinnie; anxious to see which way he decided to go…. (rring…rring) “Click. Hello?” “Yeah, it’s Vinnie. I thought about your offer Mr. Williams, and I think I will connect you with one of the bosses here in the area. I talked to my boss Mario, and he has agreed to sit down with you. He needs references, and an assurance that you can do what you say you can. If you can put that together then I think you will have a deal. What do you want me to do?”
“Bring him to the same place where we met tomorrow at lunchtime… say… eleven in the morning, and I will be there with references and assurances. Gracias Vinnie. Good work.”
“Jeff. (CIA agent) I need some references and verification to present to a representative of the Agular-Bonilla family. Can you hook me up?”
“Of course! Who better than Liam? He’s right there in the area and I’m sure they would know about him. I’ll give him a heads up. Anything else?” “No. That’s perfect man, thanks. I’m sure I’ll see you soon. I’m cooking up an offshore drop point in their backyard, along with the possibility of transporting their products north if they need it.” “Yeah, that works. I’ll call Liam (Weapons dealer) now. Take care bro.” “Hellos to Manny (CIA contractor) for us also. Later.”
“THE MEET”
“Hey Vinnie. I see you have a guest. “Mr. Williams, this is Mario, my boss. Mario, this is Mr. Williams” (Shaking hands). “I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me sir.” “Yes. I understand you wish to do business in our area?” “I do., and I already have a friend here that can verify who I am, and what I do. Are you familiar with senior Liam? His associate Benjamin?”. “Of course, we know who this man is. Both of them. If he verifies our concerns, I will agree to meet with you again and let the Don know about you, I will give you a call.” With that being said, Mario abruptly leaves the cantina. I turn to Vinnie and say: “Good work, Vinnie. Here’s the ten thousand as promised. You know where to find me; I’ll be wa
