Description

Teachers, doctors and senior civil servants used to be considered role models in society but as in every profession, there are always black sheep who tarnish the reputation of their peers. Beneath the stereotype of a hardworking employee, here are cases of people who have committed crimes of a sexual or perverse nature. Read about the serial rapist who found his victims through social media; the elderly doctor who was accused of molesting his patient; the senior civil servant who traded sex for business favours; the female teacher who behaved inappropriately with the classmate of her 13-year old son. These are the stories of the men and women who did not keep their passion under control, committing crimes of a sexual nature.

MEN WHO COMMIT sex crimes prove that they have no respect for women or their bodies. They also show that they have no concern for the law as they aren t afraid of getting caught committing acts that almost everyone knows is a crime.
Rape is, of course, the most heinous. And reading the details of what rapists put their victims through isn t an easy task. There s the case of Hang Tuah Jumaat, a 40-year-old who raped a 13-year-old girl, then asked her 16-year-old ex-boyfriend to have a go. The age difference between him and his victim didn t deter him in the slightest.
But worse still are serial rapists who aren t satisfied with torturing just one woman. They have an agenda, and plan things out carefully in the hope of not getting caught. Azuar Ahamad was described in court as the worst serial rapist ever to be dealt with in Singapore . He preyed on women he met online and his modus operandi involved taking them to a nightspot, drugging them, then raping them. The women were so out of it that they had no recollection of being raped.
Cases are always more shocking when the victims are underaged. Here, we look at some such cases, including a 63-year-old gynaecologist who had sex with a 14-year-old he met online, as well as various men who molested young girls, mostly in the lifts or lift landings of the blocks that they lived in.
Pimps are another category of sex criminals, and here we take you through the cases of some of them who made empty promises to underaged girls and got them unwillingly involved in the sex trade.
Then there was the much-publicised sex-for-match-fixing case, involving a man who bribed three Lebanese football officials into fixing a match, offering them the sexual services of prostitutes in return
Their crimes may vary but all these men have one thing in common - they need to be locked up for a very long time.

MEN WHO GET women involved in selling sex are often punished heavily, especially in cases where these girls are underaged. The pimps might not always physically be involved in having sex with the girls but the act of getting them entangled in such illegal activities is enough to ensure that they receive a jail term and sometimes even a few strokes of the cane.
TANG HUISHENG
Tang Huisheng was a name that Singaporeans heard a lot of in 2013, as he was the man behind a prostitution ring in Singapore involving an underaged girl from China. The pimp - also a Chinese national - had initially indicated that he would claim trial when he was charged with the offences but ended up pleading guilty instead.
On 20 September 2013, Tang, 37, pleaded guilty to four charges - bringing the minor into Singapore for prostitution, living on her earnings, harbouring her, and abetting a customer who paid $100 for sex with her. There were also two other charges that were to be taken into consideration for sentencing. He was remanded and scheduled to be back in court on 2 October for sentencing.
Under the Women s Charter, he faced a jail term of up to five years and a fine of up to $10,000 on each of the first three offences. And, for abetting the customer to have paid sex with the girl, he faced a jail term of up to seven years and/or a fine.
During his court appearance, he was seen frowning and arguing with the court interpreter while she read out the facts of the case to him. And, on at least three occasions, he disputed what she was reading out. He shook his head, looked away and slouched forward while seated in the dock, making it look as if he was ready to challenge the facts. However, after the four charges were read out, he surprised everyone by pleading guilty.
District Judge Shaiffudin Saruwan asked Tang if the prosecution s statement of facts was accurate, but he hesitated. He was then pressed at least twice by the interpreter for an answer, until he finally replied in a low voice, Yes.
It was revealed in court that between 18 May and 1 June, Tang had collected about $9,000 from prostituting the minor. The 17-year-old girl had provided sexual services to some 100 clients on about 150 occasions, and received about $60 each time. It was also revealed that as she solicited customers, he would stand near her in case she needed help. He also acted as a look-out and helped her solicit customers.
Tang then used the money he collected from the girl to pay for rental and other expenses, as well as to gamble at the casino at Marina Bay Sands.
SETTING THE TRAP
The girl s family was heavily in debt as a result of her father s illness. By the time he died from cancer in October 2011, he had racked up about 100,000 yuan in loans from relatives and illegal moneylenders for his medical treatment. The girl s mother became an odd-job labourer and earned 3,000 yuan a month, while she got a job as a shampoo girl in a salon in her hometown in Shandong, China, and made about 1,000 yuan a month. But this wasn t enough for the family, so the girl s employer, Yi Hui, suggested that she go to Macau to work in a casino.
In January 2013, she went to Macau with Yi Hui, who introduced her to a woman by the name of Tang Huiying. However, Tang found out that the girl was only 17 and therefore too young to work in a casino. She suggested instead that she solicit for VIP customers outside the casinos and earn a commission by helping the VIPs cash in money in exchange for chips. She had to draw in highrollers willing to change at least HK$500,000 for chips in the casino; she was promised one per cent commission of the amount each client changed.
However, Tang felt that it would be hard for her to persuade customers, so suggested that she first go to Zhuhai, on the mainland, in order to learn how to do so from her brother, Tang Huisheng. When the girl met him, she told him her age and he then drugged her with methamphetamine ( ice ) and had sex with her while she was in a stupor.
She then became his sex slave. He would ask her for sex every few days; if she refused, he would beat her. He also continued to give her ice.
He then told her that he was taking her to Singapore to work as a prostitute so she could earn more money; he told her that he would be her pimp.
She refused to go to Singapore with him and begged him to let her return home to her mother. He locked her up in a room instead. She was confined in it for more than a week and tried to escape by jumping out of the fifth-storey room. She injured her back and legs and was caught by Tang. He then punished her by hitting her on the back and chest, while his sister hit her on her head. He also threatened her by saying that he would cause her mother trouble if she tried to escape again; he knew her hometown address from looking at her passport. His sister then threatened to splash acid on her face if she ever tried to run away again.
Tang took all her money, her China identity card and her mobile phone. He bought air tickets to Singapore and promised to let her go home if she worked for two months as a prostitute in Singapore.
The duo arrived in Singapore on 16 May and Tang took the girl to Geylang and liaised with a local pimp known as Pang Pang. Her instructions were to stand around Geylang and attract customers. Tang hung around near her in case she needed help and acted as a lookout. He also helped her solicit for customers. At the end of every day, he took all the money she made.
The girl worked in Geylang from 18 May to 1 June, when she was arrested at about 5.10pm on the suspicion that
