GOD FIRST
I must first give my eternal thanks and appreciation to the actual author of this book, Our Most High God. Therefore, God, I worship, honour and glorify you, our father, redeemer and friend. Father, I thank you for your perfect wisdom and your strength in the days when I was weak and afraid.
Thank you for your attentive ears when I pray. Thank you for consoling and embracing me with your love and spirit-filled words, which I repeatedly use to tear down my walls of Jericho, to restore peace and stability to my spirit. And for being that much-needed lamp of guidance unto my feet; that continuous light that illuminated my path so that I could take extraordinary steps of faith.
Thank you for reminding me of your words, in Romans 12:2, which tell me, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Most importantly, I thank you for sustaining me in building a deep and intimate relationship with you on this, my spiritual journey through prayers.
My Father, I am indebted to you, so I, therefore, dedicate this book to you, The Great I Am, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).

This journey has indeed been a journey like no other, and it would not have been possible without the extended Duckworth and Samuels family, especially Eugenie and Barrington Samuels. To my mom, Mrs Mala Duckworth-Bonner, the queen of the pack, thank you for your unfailing encouragement to always be the best model of myself and to be unremitting, no matter the obstacles. PREFACE
There is no doubt that we live in a chaotic, uncertain and challenging world, a world filled with problems on top of problems. Due to these unprecedented times, there is simply no way to avoid being affected physically, emotionally, spiritually or psychologically.
As a result, these problems require our immediate and constant attention. Therefore, as a consequence of trying to devise solutions and ways to control our daily battles at a fast pace, we deposit all our focus on the source of our situations, our afflictions, rather than using the gift of Prayer, to gain access to the source from where our help comes.
However, if we want to stop being a victim of our daily battles, it is of paramount importance that we not only get connected but stay connected to the source of our help, all day, every day through Prayer. Life is undeniably a battleground, therefore, Prayer should not be an alternative or an option; it should become our most important daily priority. Because when applied, Prayer is that significant and formidable weapon in our armoury.
When we pray, God has promised to answer whatever we ask in His name according to His will (John 16:23-24) and that the hills in our lives will melt like wax at his presence (Psalms 95:5). So, when we enter the battlefield of life, having God s words as our sword, combined with Prayer, there can only be one outcome. We shall be victorious, as confirmed in 1 Corinthians 15:57, which states, But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, let us like the Psalmist adopt and use this tremendous weapon and enter into our various prayer closets and make the devil tremble with fear, by declaring, I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth (Psalms 121: 1-2) .
INTRODUCTION
There has been a considerable amount of literature composed and taught concerning prayer. Therefore, one key possible question is, why another book on the theme/subject of prayer?
First, after ample soul searching and seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit, I decided to document my journey through prayer. I hope that this book will bring about a fresh approach concerning the need, the use, the purpose and effectiveness, of one of our most under-used weapons in our warfare, especially for those of us, like me, who struggle to pray under the heavy weight of our daily situations.
Secondly, I trust that this book will move, mould and furnish the reader s views surrounding praying to our unseen, eternal and omniscient God. Especially when we are anxious, stressed, not gratifying or delayed based on our human perception of satisfaction and time.
Third, drawing from my personal experiences, I would like to show that prayer is not a list of our requirements. Instead, it is by far the most crucial tool, which we need to employ on our road of life, which is narrow, rugged, tough and littered with unexpected obstacles, which are there to sabotage our daily walk with God.
Fourth, this book surrounding the theme of prayer is designed to reinforce the need for us to pray without ceasing, through our struggles and temptations. Because when we pray, it will help us fortify our courage and strength when we struggle to endure life s challenges.
Fifth, prayer is our chance to bear all before our creator so that he can direct our path, and allow us to discern that there are a will and purpose for the struggles in our lives. And that if we persevere, we will see God s marvellous light at the end of our tunnels.
Finally, I hope that sharing my lived experiences of praying will show that prayer is a fantastic weapon to deal with our differing yet related struggles. And that praying will reveal the supernatural strength and power of God and bring victory to our conditions.
So, come and Journey with me, so that we can witness the extensive results of John 14:13-14, which states, And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
THE NEWBIE
Sections one and two depict my transforming journey from a woman who knew of the saving grace of God. A woman who tried her hardest to run away from his presence. A woman who for years deceived herself into thinking that I could make it on my own, until that day, that faithful day, when God waited for me on my road to Damascus. On that road, He made me face the painful truth of my life, which was not pleasant but necessary. However, my faithful Father reassured and comforted me by telling me how much He loves me and that His grace is sufficient to keep me (2 Corinthians 12:9)
That s enough! If you want to know more, come and journey with me through these evolving sections of my book to witness the outcome of my encounter with the one who assured me that, no temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it (1 Corinthians 10:13).

2 Corinthians 5:15-17
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Upon reflection, my spiritual awakening seems a lifetime ago because of how far I have travelled, in and through God. Looking back over that period, it fills me with gratitude and leads me to say, Lord, I thank you. If not for your love, mercy and grace I would have lost my mind, which would have totally dislodged
