Description

Through the author’s personal journey, this faith-based book offers a guide to help Christians of all ages live in complete freedom from any fears while walking through some of life’s darkest days.
In 2015, author Jeni Krumnow’s youngest son, Caleb, was nineteen years old. He worked full-time for the Air National Guard and had everything a young man could want. But beneath all the good things Caleb had going for him, had a drinking problem and quickly became addicted to meth. For Jeni and the rest of his family, it would prove to be one of the hardest seasons of their life. However, for Jeni and her husband Kevin, it was in that season of great fear, heartache, loss, and loneliness that they came to know the love of God like never before.
In Generation Freedom, she shares her family’s journey hoping to help others face their most difficult moments with great faith and hope. In this story and activation guide, Jeni seeks to help members of the body of Christ discover the truths that bring complete freedom—freedom from all fears attached to addictions, diseases, illnesses, depressions, anxieties, worries, or anything the enemy would want to use against you.
Generation Freedom goes beyond the generational boundaries to offer a guide to help you step into a new normal in Christ where you’ll learn how to live in a place of greater intimacy and freedom with Him. It teaches you how to live in complete freedom from the fears you face in life no matter how young or old you are.

INTRODUCTION
The purpose for me in writing this book is to help members of the body of Christ to discover the truths that bring complete freedom—freedom from all fears, addictions, diseases, illnesses, depressions, anxieties, worries, or anything that the enemy would use to stop you from stepping into the purpose God desires for you to live in. If you are in bondage to anything at all or walking through a season of bondage with someone else, then this book is for you. As a child of God, you should walk in His love, freedom, and light every day, and He makes that possible for those who believe.
Both this book and the activation guide were born out of one of the hardest seasons of my life; my youngest son was addicted to meth. It was in that season of great fear, heartache, loss, and loneliness that I came to know the love of God like never before. It was also in that season I learned that seated deep inside every problem is a promise and a provision to combat that very problem. The journey to seeing a problem become a steppingstone to your purpose and destiny will include petition, promises, prophecy, and perseverance to provision. If you are facing some tough times and you need nothing short of a miracle, then sit back, take a read, and learn to rest while you start this journey to a life of complete freedom. This is not a book of steps or formulas that you follow to get God to do what you want. It’s a guide to help you step into a new normal in Christ where will learn how to live in a place of greater intimacy with Him.
Your first assignment is so easy but will be so profound if you stick with it. The first thing you are going to do is to hold up one thumb in front of you as if you’re giving someone a thumbs-up and say, “God is good”; then without moving that thumb, take your other thumb and point it to yourself and say, “And He loves me.” OK, now do it again, “God is good,” “And He loves me.” One more time, “God is good, and He loves me.” A good friend of mine and the one who helped me with some of this book told me that one of her pastors used to always tell his congregation that if they don’t remember anything else about his sermon, just remember (thumb number 1) “God is good” and (thumb number 2) “He loves me.” She said it was something that has helped her so much during tough times. When I learned this, I taught it to my grandchildren, and I often make them repeat it to me. I never want them to ever face anything and not know that one, God is good, and two, He loves them! I don’t want you to either; no matter what you are facing or what you are going through, there are two constants that you can always know are forever true—God is good, and He loves you.
Setting Up a Prayer Room
I had never known the value of a prayer room or closet until I was faced with the fact that I could potentially have to watch my son die and there wasn’t any earthly solution to this problem. Now, I not only have a prayer room, but I also make sure I can take it with me everywhere I go. Having a prayer room brought a level of intimacy to my relationship with God that I had never experienced before. Now, I encourage everyone I know to set one up and allow God to draw near to them in their time with Him. It doesn’t have to be a whole room or closet; it can be a corner or a section in an area with a little privacy. Once you have an area designated, you will need a few items to create some visuals like index cards, a notebook or journal, a pen, a pencil, markers, permanent markers, and some tape. These items will help you to be creative during your time with Him and His Word. You can write out specific verses and journal things that He may say to you during your quiet time with Him. When you write God’s Word and determine to fix your eyes on it repeatedly, it begins to take root and become alive within your spirit man. It will help you when you are believing in something that you can’t see in the natural right now.
After you have your area set up and are ready, allot a specific amount of time to be alone with God, and don’t let anyone or anything disrupt that time. Treat it like you’re in a meeting that can’t be interrupted by anyone or anything. Believe me, this will be the most important meeting of your day. When you go into your prayer time, take the first couple of minutes to envision yourself seated in heaven in the manifested presence of God because you are.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus , that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:4–7 NKJV).
Once you, by faith, can see that you are seated together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, praise Him for who He is and what He has done for you by way of the cross. It’s helpful to put on some praise and worship music and take communion during this time. This will remind you that Jesus has already won the victory for you and will give you the confidence to make all your requests known to Him. Knowing that you are His child and that His promises are a definite yes and amen will free you to joyfully ask for the things you need and want.
For however many promises God has made, they all find their “Yes” in connection with Him; that is why it is through Him that we say the “Amen” when we give glory to God (2 Corinthians 1:20 CJB).
It’s helpful for the sake of your hope to give Him glory for His promises whether you see them fulfilled in your life right now or not. Most of the memory verses given to you in the workbook contain promises from God. You will be wise to take that memory verse and write it out in your journal and/or on an index card to keep it before your eyes. You can do this with any scripture or word that God has spoken to you. In my prayer room, I have a letter that I wrote to Caleb that reminds me that God is bigger than any addiction, some verses I set my mind to remember, and promises that I have found in scripture that keep me tethered and grounded to God’s love and promises for me no matter what I’m facing.
It is vital that your thoughts and words start lining up with what God says about you and your life, not what your current situation says. On this journey, you will learn how your words are like the rudder of a ship and will direct you either to victory or defeat. There are two ways
