Dieser Bericht ist ein Beitrag zum Studium der Alkaligesteine und Karbona
titc im allgemeinen und des Kaiserstuhlmassivs im besonderen. Neben einer
geologischen, mineralogischen und petrographischen Beschreibung des Vor

Ce rapport est une contribution à l'étude des roches alcalines et des carbo
natites en général et du massif du Kaiserstuhl en particulier. Outre une description
géologique, minéralogique et pétrographique, les processus de concentration d'une
trentaine d'éléments ont été étudiés en détail en fonction de la différenciation mag
matique dans les quatre grandes familles de roches du Kaiserstuhl : les olivine
néphélinites, la famille des essexites, la famille des phonolites et les carbonatites.

This report is a contribution to the study of alcaline rocks and carbonatites
in general and to those of the Kaiserstuhl in particular. Apart from geological,
mineralogical and petrographical descriptions, the concentration processes during
magmatic differentiation of the four main families of rocks at the Kaiserstuhl have
been studied for some thirty elements. The four main families distinguished are : aus durch einen überdurchschnittlichen Gehalt an Nb, Seltenen Erden, Ba,
Sr und Pb, — Elementen, die an die Karbonatitisierung gebunden sind —, sowie
durch eine bemerkenswerte Anreicherung von U, Th und V.
Die Karbonatite wurden genauer untersucht. Diese Gesteine bildeten sich
in mehreren scharf zu trennenden Phasen. Es handelt sich um Søvite, braune
Karbonatite und barytreiche «Dolomite». Strukturuntersuchungen der Karbo
natite von Schclingen zeigen, dass diese in Form von Diapiren eingedrungen
sind. Manganphlogopit, Olivin, Mossit, Columbit, Bastnäsit, Monazit und
mehrere Sulfide wurden neu für den Kaiserstuhl ausgemacht. Die Geochemie der
Minerale lässt eine weite Verbreitung von SE, Ba und Sr in einer grossen Anzahl
von Mineralen, besonders aber in den Calciten und Dolomiten erkennen.
Die Entstehung tier Alkaligesteine und der Kaiserstuhlkarbonatite wird
diskutiert. Isotopenmessungen von C13 und O18 weisen auf eine magmatische
Bildung für die Karbonatite vom Typ Søvit, für die Alkivite und die braunen
Karbonatite hin, wogegen die «dolomitische» Schlussphase mehr ins hydrother
male Gebiet hineinreicht.
Geländeuntersuchungen zeigten eine heterogene Verbreitung der Niob-
mineralisation; magnetische Messungen führten zum Auffinden von mehreren
wichtigen Anoma
