11.4 RELATED CLASSES INTRODUCTION......................................................131 CHAPTER12 CONTACT US........................................................................133 Chapter2 Introduction 2.1 What Is Input Report The so-called input report is a report that you can input data and save it to database. All the RAQ Report can be divided into two types by usage: Normal Report, Input Report. The difference between the normal report and the input report is whether we can input data. In the normal report, we can only browse, summarize and calculate the data but can not input data; in the input report, you can not only browse data but also input data. The essential difference between normal report and parameter list is the usage of input data, the input data in normal report is saved in database, and the input data in parameter list is used to deliver parameter values to report. In practical applications, input report will have a lot of functional requirements. For example, when input data, the input report needs to provide a friendly input style to help users quickly and easily input, avoid data input errors; after data input, the input report needs to provide automatic calculation function, which can automatically calculate the data that has not been input based on the data has already been input, simplifying the input workload; before saving the data, the input report needs data validity check, avoid saving invalid data into the database and so on. The styles of data preservation will be expanded to a variety of needs. The most classic is to save in the database, but it may need to submit the data to the middle processing layer to deal with and the data will be saved into the database by the middle processing layer; sometimes it may requires to save the data into some file systems and so on. There are also many kinds of styles of input reports, such as the most simple gird style, freestyle report, main-sub report, multi-source-related style and so on. Basically, the styles introduced in the《RAQ Report V4.0 Quick Start Guide》 and 《RAQ Report V4.0 Advanced Tutorial》can be used as input report styles. 2.2 The Flow Chart of Creating an Input Report Create new input report Same design steps with normal reports, you can skip these steps if If the normal report has already been input report don’t need fetch data from designed, you can convert it into database input report and add some input attributes. Design appearance Design normal report Define datasets Convert to input report Edit access expression Edit input report properties Preview Release input report Application development 2.3 Creating a New Input Report When create a new report, you can directly create a input report, the operations are as below: Choose “File > New” on the menu bar,the New Report Wizard dialog box will appear, as shown below:
