Description
Abstract. — The overflowing which is now affecting several glaciers in the Mont Blanc massif has been watched closely during the years 1968, 1969 and 1970. The summer of 1970 has provided the most interesting observations. The results of these three years are presented as regards the progression of the glacier fronts; glacial erosion in action (examples of abrasion and plucking); glacial accumulation in action (frontal thrust and lateral thrust moraines). A large number of photographs, a choice of which is shown here, have been taken systematically.
