The Medieval period, also known as The Middle Ages, was a long period of history in Europe. It was the thousand years between 500 and 1500 AD. It started with the fall of the Roman Empire and ends with the start of the Renaissance and the Age of Exploration.






Great leaders like Charlemagne and Joan of Arc were part of the Middle Ages. Major events like the Black Plague and the rise of Islam also happened during this period. This was a time of cathedrals and crusades, guilds and monasteries, and castles and peasants.
