2 million euros for YouScribe’s take-off

YouScribe.com, the European number one for digital document publishing, sharing and selling,
announced that it has raised €2 million from IRIS CAPITAL, from private investors Philippe Oddo and
Bruno Emsens, and from its main historical investors: TDH (Thierry Dassault), Habert Dassault Finances
(Benoit Habert), the Gilberte Beaux family and Clarisse (Henri & François de Maublanc).
BOOSTING THE GROWTH OF THE COMPANY, IN PARTICULAR ABROAD.
YouScribe aims at responding to the new uses of written texts, which can be read, shared, commented
upon, digitally and on all kinds of reading devices (e-books, novels, reading reports, scores, press,
dissertations, etc...). YouScribe gives the power of publication to everyone, and supports the digital
transformation that the thriving publishing ecosystems are currently experiencing.
The fund-raising announced today is consistent with the favourable market conditions for on-line
1advertising, which is set to rise from €13.9 billion in 2012 to over €20 billion in 2015 . In line with these
forecasts, YouScribe aims at building up a catalogue of over several dozens of millions of documents by
2016.
Juan Pirlot de Corbion, CEO of YouScribe, explained: “We have in-depth knowledge of the ecosystem of
written documents in France and in Europe. To go beyond simply increasing our catalogue, we reached a
first important technological milestone; we now want to enhance the community dynamics of the
platform and increase mobility. We are delighted to welcome new partners at YouScribe and to be able
to count on the continuing support of our original investors”.
Sophie Dingreville, Partner at Iris Capital, stated: “We are very happy to join forces with YouScribe and
support its growth alongside Juan Pirlot de Corbion and his team, who have been able to develop as a
leading figure on the European market”.
Thierry Dassault added: “We support entrepreneurs in the long run. After contributing to the success of
Chapitre.com from the very beginning, we believe that YouScribe is going to consolidate its position as
the European number one. We want to build a major digital and cultural alternative to the main
American players”.
YOUSCRIBE, THE COMMUNITY PLATFORM FOR WRITTEN DIGITAL DOCUMENTS OF ALL KINDS
Founded in January 2011 by Juan Pirlot de Corbion, former head and founder of Chapitre.com,
YouScribe.com became in 18 months the European number one for the dissemination of written digital
documents thanks to its impressive catalogue of nearly 2 million documents in French, German and
Spanish.
