Note on methodology:

Research Method and Response Rates
A sample of 1582 individuals was achieved from a stratified random sample of households
within 52 sampling points chosen to provide a broad representation of the population of
Northern Ireland.
If no interview was achieved at the selected address the adjacent house on the left hand side
of the property was selected. This provided a household which should display similar
demographic characteristics to that originally sampled and excluded the time consuming
process of issuing substitute addresses.
We achieved a response rate of 62% of the original addresses attempted. All others were
substituted by adjacent houses.
