MAIDSTONE, England,July 23, 2012/PRNewswire/ -- Staff climb 3 mountains in 3 days for The Lord's Taverners children's charity

72 hours and 3 mountains later, 33 tired yet determined Balreed staff are congratulating themselves on raising £22,600 for charity by completing the gruelling 3 Peak Challenge.

Last week the team of staff from all the operations and offices of Balreed came together to conquer Snowdon inWales, followed by Scafell Pike inEnglandand finally Ben Nevis inScotland. The group's mammoth ascent, which equalled 16 canary wharf towers in altitude, saw them battle thick fog and gusting winds of over 50mph as they encouraged and helped each other on in order to raise the £20,000 Balreed had pledged to The Lord's Taverners children's charity. Sheer determination and gallant camaraderie shone through as men and women of all ages and abilities soldiered on through injuries and exhaustion to smash their target and raise a whopping £22,600. The money will be donated to the Lord's Taverners and used to purchase a specially adapted minibus for the disabled and disadvantaged children of Phoenix Pre School inBromley. Managing Director Robin Stanton-Gleaves helped lead his team to the top. He said: "Each and every colleague played their part in making this first Balreed charity challenge the superb success it was. They pushed themselves and their determination was evident. It was not an easy challenge but for every person who struggled there was always a colleague close at hand to provide mental or physical support. The Lord's Taverners is a fantastic charity and we are looking forward to presenting the children ofPhoenixpre-school with their new mini bus later this year.
