« Rêve et culture chez J.P.B. de Josselin de Jong »

Dans sa conférence de 1946,

Culture et rêve,

De Josselin de Jong cherche à établir le rapport

individu/culture du point de vue de l’inconscient. Pour ce faire, il questionne les théories

anthropologiques, très en vogue à ce moment, qui utilisent la théorie freudienne des

contenus latents et manifestes du rêve. Il les critique sévèrement et les récusent lorsqu’elles

tentent une jonction individu/culture en utilisant la notion de prévalence du symbolisme

dans le rêve. En réalité, à son insu, ces critiques font réapparaître la véritable pensée de

Freud : la théorie de l’interprétation par le symbole est en réalité à attribuer à Jung. Or Freud

s’est séparé de Jung en grande partie pour cela. De son côté, De Josselin de Jong aboutissait

à la conclusion que ce n’était pas l’approche qui était absurde mais les concepts utilisés. Il

fallait donc sursoir à trouver la solution. Mes recherches pour l’élaboration du livre

De la

colonisation de l’esprit

m’ont permis de constater qu’à la suite de De Josselin de Jong,

Lacan et Lévi-Strauss, ont construit chacun une partie de la solution. D’un coté, une

modélisation des dynamiques du langage dans les représentations d’un individu au travers

des transformations de son mythe individuel dans la cure (schéma du double miroir). De

l’autre, dans la culture, par le mythe et sa dynamique dans le collectif, universalisé par la

formule canonique des mythes. Il apparaît qu’une culture en potentiel est d’emblée

organisée dans l’individu au niveau d’un pré-oedipe. Freud en a posé l’hypothèse à partir de

sa clinique. Cet Oedipe pré-historique est l’ombilic du rêve et fait l’objet d’un déni.

Culture and dream

, De Josselin de Jong seeks to establish

the individual / culture report from the unconscious point of view. To this end, he questions

the anthropological theories, very fashionable at the time, using Freudian theory of latent

and manifest contents of the dream. But he severely criticised and rejected them when they

try a junction between individual and culture by using the concept of the prevalence of

symbolism in the dream. Actually, unbeknownst to him, these criticisms recur the real

thought of Freud : the theory of the interpretation by the symbol is really to attribute to Jung.

Well, Freud separated from Jung for the most part for that point. For his part, De Jong

concluded that it was not the approach that was absurd, but the concepts used. So, it was

necessary to suspend to find the solution. My researches in development of the book

allowed me to notice that further to De Jong, Lacan and Lévi-

Strauss, each constructed a piece of the solution. On the one hand, a model of the dynamics

of language in the performances of an individual through the transformations in his

individual myth in the cure (diagram double mirror). On the other hand, in the culture, by

the myth and its dynamic in the collective, universalized by the canonical formula of myths.

It appears that a culture in potential is directly organized in the individual at the level of a

pre-oedipe. Freud has assumed it from his clinic. This pre-historic oedipal is the dream

umbilicus and the object of a denial.
