Resumen
Tras un exhaustivo análisis de las funciones del profesor de Educación Especial a lo largo de la historia, antecedentes y estado de la cuestión de las dimensiones implicadas en su formación para ofrecer una respuesta educativa adecuada a los niños con necesidades educativas especiales, el artículo describe una experiencia llevada a cabo en la Universidad de Girona para recabar información sobre cómo se está llevando a cabo el proceso de integración educativa. El trabajo se centra en distintas dimensiones con el objetivo final de elaborar una propuesta de diseño curricular de formación del profesorado con vistas a la integración en la perspectiva de la reforma. Finalmente, se presentan las conclusiones provisionales derivadas de la aplicación de una encuesta sobre los aspectos que los profesores creen más relevantes en su formación para la atención de alumnos.
Abstract
The article provides an exhaustive analysis of the functions of the Special Education teacher throughout history, the antecedents and the current state of the question of the dimensions involved in teacher training to provide an adequate educational response to children with special needs. The article then describes an experience at the University of Girona designed to gather information about how the process of educational integration is being carried out. The study focuses on different dimensions with the purpose of elaborating a curricular design proposal for training teachers that takes integration into consideration in the perspective of the reform. Finally, provisional conclusions are presented stemming from the application of a survey on the aspects of their training that teachers believe are most relevant in attending to students.
