With that, odometer fraud is regarded as one of the prevalent rip-offs in the auto industry. In fact, even the arrival of modern digital odometers cannot prevent this kind of problem. It is because industry experts think that digital odometers are much easier to be altered compared to analog odometers. If a certain car has an odometer fraud, then approximately 50,000 miles is erased from its system. But, do not let this deception stop you from buying a used car, if that is what you really want. Below are the steps to help you avoid odometer fraud when looking for your next car:  On an average, a car runs about 12,000 miles in a year.
