Founded in 1835, Agence FrancePresse (AFP) covers news around the world—operating in 165 countries. The news agency produces an average of 500,000 words in text (translated into almost all of its partnerorganizations’ languages), 2,500 photos, and 80 new graphics daily. Independent of all political, economic, philosophic, or religious influence, AFP serves approximately 7,000 subscribers with its numerous information offerings. Challenges
Improve the agency’s ability to monitor approximately 7,000 clients Achieve a balance between delivered and invoiced services Equip 150 commercial agents around the world with an integrated businesscycle management tool—from client estimates to billing Solution
Worked with Oracle Partner IBM Consulting Services to replace AFP’s inhouse business application with Oracle E Business Suite Provided 150 commercial agents with comprehensive visibility into their respective clients Facilitated the identification of imbalances between delivered and invoiced client services—involving approximately 8,000 invoices per year in 65 different currencies Provided a common tool to be shared by commercial agents, sales administrators, and lawyers Created a contractvalidation workflow for commercial agents and lawyers for all contracts with unique clauses Enabled commercial agents to automatically deliver requested services without the support of the technical department, thereby accelerating response time to clients Supported the project’s global coordination through a new Oracle Service collaborative engagement process program consultant
