InvestmentBankingBootCampOverview: TheEdgeCorporation’sInvestmentBankingBootCampisanintensive,modulartrainingprogramdesignedto provideindividualswithakeeninterestinpursuingcareersinfinance(IB,VC,PE,corporationfinance)withthe sametypeoftrainingandinstructiongiventoWallStreetinvestmentbankinganalystsandassociatesduringthe summertrainingprogramspriortostartofthefirstyearonthejob.Throughanumberofdifferentmodules(each runasaseparateworkshop),bootcampparticipantswilllearnthecoreskillsandsubjectmaterialnecessaryto performthedutiesofanIBanalyst(e.g.,corporatevaluation,financialmodeling,M&Atransactionprocessingand analysis,aswellaspreparationofpitchbooksandpresentations,informationmemoranda,andotherrelated tasks.).TheBootCamp,however,willnotbeofvalueonlytothoseseekingcareersinfinance,astheskillsand subjectmatterarehighlyrelevanttoanyindividualseekingcareersinotherbusinessfields,suchasconsulting, accounting,andmarketing,amongothers. IBBootCampCurriculum–‘CorporateValuation&FinancialModelingModule’CoreObjectives: ReviewofcorporatefinanceandfinancialaccountingtopicsrelevanttoIBtransactionsandanalystresponsibilities,with specialemphasisoncorporatevaluation(Conceptscovered:DCFmethodology,costofcapital,structureoffinancial statements,workingcapital,cashflowcalculation andprojections,etc.) IntroductiontofinancialmodelingusingMS‐Excel,includingconstructionoftheoperatingmodel,financialprojectionsand valuationanalysis Corporatevaluationtechniquesandbestpractices,withspecialemphasisonconstructionoftheDCFvaluationmodeland Comparablesanalysis Preparationforjob/internshiprecruitmentandtips/techniquesforsuccessasanIBfinancialanalyst TheEdgeCorpIB‐FBootCamp,willdiffer,however,fromtheIBtrainingprogramsbyitscase‐drivenapproach, wherebyinstructionwillrevolvearoundatransactioninvolvingrealcompanies,aswellasitsexpandedcurriculum, whichwillincludeindustryandcompanyanalysisframeworksandmethodsthatareemployedbyconsultantsat leadingstrategicconsultingfirms.Inaddition,programparticipantswillbegiveninsightsonhowtoexcelinthe qualityoftheirworkproductandperformanceasIBanalystsorfinanceprofessionals,andtherebygaintheedge overtheirpeersstartingfromthejob/internshiprecruitmentprocessallthewaythroughjobperformancereview andcareeradvancement.
