OUTDOOR SPORTS AT THE HEIGHT OF POPULARITY Now, if ever, is the time to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air and wonderful summer weather. It’s true that, with good equipment, you can practice outdoor sports all year round, but now the real season for outdoor sports is starting. Many things about sunny paths entice us. The move from snowy, slippery roads or gym treadmills into the great outdoors is motivating. Nature offers us a wide variety of training options to enjoy in verdant surroundings to a soundtrack of birdsong. Heart rate monitors that tell you how your fitness is improving help runners achieve their goals and increase enthusiasm for training sessions. When you have the patience to stretch before and after your run, you can be sure you’re getting everything out of your training. Another extremely popular outdoor sport is cycling. Cycling suits almost everyone, both as light, everyday exercise and for improving fitness. When cycling, the scenery changes rapidly and even long journeys pass almost without you noticing. The alternat-ing uphills and downhills of the countryside bring the sweat to your brow and variety to your training. The greens of the golf course also get golfers moving. The average round of golf includes up to four hours of walking, which makes for excellent exercise. The same can also be said for tennis - a brisk game limbers you up and improves your coordination. However, it’s not worthwhile trying to learn to play tennis all by yourself. It’s a good idea to take at least a basic course. Proper equipment and clothing is an important part of sport. When we’re properly kitted out, we get the best results and most enjoyment from our sports and exercise. For example, it’s worth getting good sports shoes, and a proper training outfit is one that is breathable and transfers moisture away from the skin. Amer Sports is continu-ally bringing to market new technically advanced, performance-enhancing equipment, apparel and footwear that have been designed using the vital expertise and experience of sportspeople. NEW RACKETS FOR WILLIAMS SISTERS.Wilson is expanding its exclusive W line of women’s rackets with two new models that were created and inspired by Venus and Serena Williams. Venus debuted the W5 in Warsaw and Serena is expected to change over to her W3 Gypsy Rose racket at an upcoming tour competition.
UNIQUE FEELING & DESIGN.What makes a pro? A pro rides and chal-lenges himself everyday and defines tomorrow’s style. According to our team this is what makes a pro binding: a binding that can withstand everyday use, that transfers energy with most comfort and no added weight. A binding that provides the most dampening for those hard land-ings, without compromising edge to edge performance. A binding that enables them to express their style, and which tehy can rely on. This is what Relay Pro is all about.
FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH TRAINING. Training using the Precor S3.23 multi-function home gym ensures all-round muscle development and at the same time improves your balance and coordination. The S3.23 allows for natural and individual motions and focuses training on several muscles and joints, teaching them all how to work together. With the S3.23, strength training can be performed while moving, standing, sitting on an exercise ball, or using the Precor Home Bench.
THE NEWEST COMPOSITE TECHNOLOGY.DeMarini’s new Slowpitch Softball bat – the Juice – introduces “stacked” technology. Featuring an Evolution Composite handle with an end-loaded Stacked Composite barrel. This new “stacked” technology applies the same principle as DeMarini’s revolutionary Doublewall construction, wherein two independent walls make up the barrel and result in a springboard effect that launches the ball further and faster. The Juice still delivers pure Half & Half performance which silences feedback on off-center hits, and also includes a new “Clutch” 12-spoke end cap designed to focus this energy and return it back into the barrel.
GAME IMPROVEMENT. Testers at Golf Magazine chose the Wilson Staff Ci6 irons as number one in the game-improvement iron category. The clubs were awarded four and a half stars out of five. Testers even thought that the category’s long irons were easy to use. The clubs were also reliable on a wet course and in the rough.
TRAILBLAZER. AC² (Advanced Composite Arc’teryx’s Construction) line of backpacks has received a veritable wave of awards. The AC² backpack received an award at the ISPO Outdoor Awards in February. Since then, it has also been recognized by magazines such as Backpacker, Men’s Health and Vertical. “This revolutionary pack sets a new standard for blending comfort, durability, and waterproof-ness, wrote Outside Magazine on presenting the AC² line’s Naos 55 backpack with its Gear of the Year award.

The Paclite Jacket is extremely lightweight and breathable. The Twinskin Tank from the women’s collection provides effective sup-port while also being lightweight, thin and quick-drying. Salomon’s Trail Pro SCS shoe is equipped with Salomon’s own shock absorption at the toe and ball of the foot.
Salomon focuses on running Salomon’s first real success in the running sector was with the XA Pro, which received a Gear of the Year mention in the respected magazine Outside several years ago. Since then, the XA has become the footwear to use, especially among trail runners and adventure racers. With the XA Pro 3D, the foot is solidly close to the ground, which makes the  going stable even over difficult terrain. For its new Trail line of footwear, Salomon has sought out more complex features that differ from those of the XA line: a lightweight shoe with shock-absorption and control that allows for the natural roll of the foot. The flagship of the collection - the Salomon Trail Pro SCS - is, for example, equipped with its own SCS (Salomon Cushioning Sys-tem) at the heel and ball of the foot. And weighing in at only 355 grams, it’s already in the same category as the lightest training shoes. In ad-dition to the model’s name, the grip on the shoe’s outsole is just one more thing indicating how good it also is off-road. Salomon’s Trail shoes are suitable for those who run on a variety of different surfaces. If even half your route is over something other than asphalt, Trail shoes are the right choice. Salomon is already starting to be taken very seriously as a running brand. Salomon’s shoes are well on their way onto shelves in the run-ning departments of sports stores, and from there into demanding use by runners. Salomon’s focus on running is also becoming apparent in its tex-tiles. Apparel made from the best technical materials on the market is full of the innovative solutions that are typical for Salomon. They improve the functionality, fit and versatility of the clothing. Salomon’s running clothes and shoes together form an ensemble that will satisfy the needs of even the demanding runner.

Quality! Over are the times when runners jogged in ragged T-shirts, worn-out shoes and polyester tracksuits. thought that training must be tough both physi-cally and mentally if it’s to be of any use. People who enjoy the lonely grind have sought out the sport. The situation today is quite different. Groups of runners from the workplace, runs held by marathon schools, competitive runners training together, training camps for keep fit enthusiasts, and large city marathons are all clear indications that running today is, to an ever larger extent, a social sport. In a good crowd, training with a friend or like-minded stranger is motivating and helps you get results – and above all, fun.
Suunto’s wristop computers steer you towards the correct type of training Nowadays, runners want detailed information about their own perfor-mances. Just a heart rate is no longer enough: it has to be backed up by data on the load and intensity of training. Training or exercise is fruitful when it consists of both rest and exertion in the right ratio. The desired training effect is only attainable when you know which intensity range you’re training in. For some time, there has been a mega-trend that you could call “ con-trol and me” An exerciser with goals . has a need to thoroughly analyze their performance and the functions of their body, and use the information received to modify their training and achieve better results. Suunto’s wristop com-puters - especially the Suunto t6 - are an excellent tool for this. They make it easier to train correctly and wisely. With the aid of the so-called EPOC value, the Suunto t6 defines in detail how high-load the training or competi-tion is, and helps runners discover the best possible plan and rhythm for their training and recovery.
