Revue d'histoire de la pharmacie - Année 1978 - Volume 66 - Numéro 239 - Pages 225-232The College of Pharmacy in Paris in face of the authorities during the French Revolution (1789-1796) according to the archives kept in the Library of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Paris. The decree of April 14th 1791, which temporarily maintained those arrangements in effect prior to the suppression of guilds for the teaching and practice of pharmacy, was never strictly applied. Moreover, the revolutionary authorities in Paris contested the right of the College of Pharmacy to collect fees for the reception of candidates ; they justified their right to do so as a sanction for free education, which was recognized by the decree of the 30th of Floreal year IV. The College, which was requested for the military health service and for inspection of food products, was maintained up to the end of the revolution. Floréal An VI beglaübigte.
