Cet article débute par le rappel de l'expérience acquise en particulier au cours des consultations thérapeutiques, sur l'utilité d'une compréhension empathique du rôle des grands-parents, en particulier du grand-père maternel, un autre père que le père biologique.
Dans la recherche actuellement conduite sur la place du père dans le développement de l'enfant, au cours du processus qui conduit de la triade à la triadifïcation, puis à la triangulation œdipienne, on montre l'utilité de la notion de transmission transgénérationnelle, mais la difficulté à la systématiser dans des recherches portant sur des familles non cliniques. On propose ici une méthodologie qui permet de montrer que le mandat transgénérationnel du bébé est lié à l'équilibre entre la transmission intergénérationnelle telle qu 'elle provient du père et celle de la mère, d'où un équilibre relativement précaire qui explique peut-être certains changements au cours de l'évolution : le bébé peut jouer un rôle actif dans le processus de paternalisation et de parentalisation.
This paper begins with some considerations about the interest of the notion of intergenerational transmission, specially when the therapist is using his/her empathy during the therapeutic consultations. The situation is quite different, when we have to evaluate non-clinical families to evaluate the same notion through a process, which is driving us from the initial « triade » (to be three) through the triadification till the œdipal situation. It is proposed to take in account the equilibrium between the intergenerational transmission of the father and of the mother. This equilibrium may give a picture of the transgenerational mandate devoted to the infant, but this mandate may change, what enlights the possibility of an active role of the child in the process of « paternification » (fabrication of a father) and of « parentalisation ».
