LONDON, Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the medium and heavy-duty telematics market, Frost & Sullivan recognises Daimler FleetBoard GmbH with the 2012 European Growth Leadership A ward.
Currently, FleetBoard is the undisputed market leader inEurope in the field of medium commercial vehicle (MCV) and heavy-duty commercial vehicle (HCV) telematics. With its new strategy of offering fleet management system (FMS) as a standard line-fitment and its commitment to penetrate the light commercial vehicle (LCV) market, FleetBoard is set to reinforce its leadership credentials.
"FleetBoard's modular service portfolio, providing telematics services to all commercial vehicle segments, all makes, and all markets, can only help the company achieve increased market growth in the coming years," notes Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Sathyanarayan Kabirdas. "Its vast experience, proximity to truck development and access to vehicle brands, provides a strong basis for future growth."
FleetBoard's strategy of offering one of its top-selling models with FMS as a standard is poised to boost its year-on-year installed base in the coming years and help it stay competitive in the market.
"FleetBoard has the ability to provide fleet telematics solutions to all types of trucking operations, regardless of private or for hire, less than truck load (LTL), field services or any other vertical market," remarks Kabirdas "Through 2011, the company has focused on expanding its already extensive portfolio in terms of logistics and time management services."
FleetBoard offers services starting from vehicle-related to advanced back-end integration and transport management solutions. Additionally, FleetBoard offers many add-on services that not only save time and money, but also essentially pay for themselves, offering a stronger return-on-investment (ROI).
Currently, FleetBoard leverages Daimler's large sales network to offer telematics acrossEurope. It is also actively penetrating markets outside Germany to increase its market share and acquire new customers.
"The company has plans to expand in a phased manner in largely under-penetrated countries, likeTurkey, Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe," adds Kabirdas. "It also targets countries such as Brazil, South Africa, China and the Middle East, to gain a global presence."
FleetBoard has formed many established partnerships which have enabled it to offer solutions with improved features and quality to a diverse customer base. It has a wide service network, with around 150 certified service partners all over Europe, of which about 100 are located inGermany. More premium partners will be continuously certified, but apart from that all Mercedes-Benz workshops are able to cover basic services. Except external partnerships, Daimler's internal partners have also helped in developing most of the current special features for its trucks.
"In collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, it provides truck service management, which helps it to significantly reduce vehicular wear and tear," elaborates Kabirdas. "Daimler's collaboration with Zauner & Partner is another example of a strategic move by FleetBoard to offer enhanced value-added services to its customers."
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Growth Leadership is presented to the company that has demonstrated excellence in capturing the highest annual compound growth rate for the last three years.
