Natural Latex Bed linens Vs . Polyurethane foam
Would you be interested in bedding that is 100% natural? And do you want to sleep on a bed
that naturally conforms to your body like memory foam, giving you an amazingly comfortable
night’s sleep?
If so, read on to learn about the amazing natural latex bedding that lucky people across the
globe are finding out about every day.
Natural latex bedding is an amazing product that can be used in numerous of the same
applications as memory foam: for mattresses,
silk duvet
, mattress toppers and pillows. It’s
made from the sap of rubber trees, and then formed into a heavenly foam bedding.
To create natural latex, you have to carefully tap a rubber tree, in much the same means that
maple trees are tapped to create maple syrup. The liquid sap is collected in buckets and later
poured into a large vat. There, any particulate matter in it is very filtered out. The liquid is then
poured into a mould, where it is very emulsified with air bubbles and water. Then it is very
vulcanized into a solid state by slowly heating it.
There are two methods of vulcanization used: the Dunlop method and the Talalay method. The
main difference is that the Talalay process includes a flash freeze step which suspends smaller
air bubbles in the mould immediately before it is very rapidly heated, which solidifies the latex,
resulting in a somewhat softer feel. The Dunlop method makes foam that is slightly firmer and
has a little more support.
Some mattresses are a combo mattress, with a core of Dunlop and a top layer of Talalay; this
provides a firm core for good support and rudimentary comfort, with a softer Talalay top that
yields a soft, luxurious feel. Natural

latex mattresses are available in a wide
variety of stiffness ratings.

Natural latex is usually chemical-free, and the manufacture of it doesn’t damage the
environment. It’s also biodegradable, so you don’t have to worry about it polluting the
environment when it’s disposed of.
Synthetic latex is made from petrochemicals, and because synthetic latex is flammable,
manufacturers add further harsh chemicals to it to make it fireproof. Mattresses and mattress
toppers that are made from 100% natural latex are somewhat flame-resistant, and they usually
feature a lining of flame-resistant wool, so they don’t require chemical treatment of any kind.
Natural latex is well-renowned for its longevity, as many natural latex mattresses have lasted
fifty years or more. Most of these
duvet covers UK
mattresses have warranties of twenty years,
but they’re just about certain to last much longer if they given adequate care.
Natural latex is superior to synthetic latex memory foam in different techniques. It breathes far
greater than memory foam, so it doesn’t over-heat you, and your sweat will be wicked away
from your body and may evaporate away from you. Memory foam doesn’t breathe well, so
you’re more apt to wake up hot and clammy in the middle of the night.
Natural latex is naturally hypoallergenic, so most people with allergies will sleep desirable in it.
It’s also antimicrobial, meaning that it acts as a repellent to dust mites and bed pests.
For me, it depends on this particular: do I wish an all natural, chemical-free mattress or perhaps
a toxic, petro-chemical bed?
