A lot of people toss and turn all night if their

mattress topper

covers are too heavy or too light, or if

the bed is too soft or too firm. I, however, could care less about how many blankets are on top of me

or how hard the bed is under me, but I can’t sleep a wink if the bed is out of style.

Hey, I can’t afford to remodel my entire bedroom every time it goes out of style, so I have to at least

buy a new bed in a bag every time my old one gets out-dated.

I never gave a hoot about the spotted owl, but now that eco-friendly is all the rage, the stuffed great

horned owl on my pillow makes me absolutely horny.

Yes, the animal kingdom has conquered the fashion world. The hottest animal prints right now are of

African animals. Zebras and giraffes are big now, with leopards and tigers following right behind them.

And who am I to buck the trend? And so every night I find myself lying’ in my zebra bed in a bag,

hoping no lion is stalking me.

Kids everywhere must be delighted, because now their animal bedding is finally in style. Now you’ll

have to dig out your old hippo bedspread and ship it off to your kid at Cambridge. She’ll undoubtedly

be thrilled to get it.

Animal bedding and eco-friendly seemed boring to me at first. I was wondering whether I’d have to

start skinning my own hides. But then I started looking through catalogues, and oh my god, some of the

animal bedding actually looked smart! My jaw nearly hit the floor!

The color green, naturally, is also part of the big eco-friendly fashion movement. But be careful,

because some of the best shades of green bedding don’t flatter your skin tone.

fashions have made green-and-brown bedding quite popular now. Botanical

blues together with greens aren’t my favourite mix, but that combo is fairly big right now, apparently

representing sky and lake.

Fitting right in with this “go green” theme in the world of bedding are the new environmentally

part, are bio-degradable.

For some peculiar reason, the colour white is also quite trendy right now. In particular, classic black-

and-white prints are fashionable. White is traditionally a safe colour for bedding. If you want a colour

that never goes out of fashion, a crisp, clean white is the obvious choice.

Which brings me to the only thing I haven’t solved yet. What will happen when animal prints go out of

style and I have to throw out my owl and zebra? Will everyone think I’ve caused their extinction?
