SECTION 1 CHELMSFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL JOB DESCRIPTION ServiceAudit, Performance and Investigations Job TitlePerformance and Investigations Apprentice Audit, Reporting ToPerformance and Investigations Manager Audit, 1.Main Purpose of the Job To provide administrative assistance to support the Audit, Performance and Investigations Team in the delivery of high quality services to the Council, its managers and employees. 2.Duties and Responsibilities
Providing administrative support relating to investigation files and updating computer records.
Undertake research using the internet.
Assist auditors in documenting and testing systems.
General Administrative Duties including photocopying, filing etc.
Using the Electronic Document Management System.

To have awareness of and comply with Health and Safety standards in respect of yourself, and members of staff.
To observe the recognised standard of conduct applicable to staff in local government.

3.Work Location You will normally be based at the Civic Centre, but you may be required to work from any other locations within the Borough should circumstances make it necessary.4.General Conditions 4.1.This Job Description is subject to your Conditions of Employment which, in the event of conflict, shall take precedence. The post holder will carry out the duties specified above and such other duties as may be required from time to time. The Job Description may be reviewed and amended in the light of any changes that are made.

SECTION 3 OUTLINE OF CONDITIONS OF SERVICE The following is an outline of the main terms and conditions of service attached to the post. More detailed information can be provided on request or discussed at the interview stage. MEDICAL -The appointment is subject to the receipt of a satisfactory medical report from the Council's Occupational Health Physician. The successful applicant will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire, which is then assessed by the Council’s Occupational Health Provider. The candidate may need to undergo a medical examination if the Occupational Health Specialists consider this necessary. GRADE – Apprenticeship in Business Administration, £95 per week HOURS -The normal working week for office staff is 37 hours. Normal office hours are worked between 8.45 a.m. and 5.15 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, 8.45 a.m. and 4.45 p.m. on Friday. Staff are able to vary their working hours under a flexible working hours scheme operated by the Council. The successful applicant will also be given time off for study. ANNUAL LEAVE –Your entitlement to annual leave is based upon an equivalent annual entitlement of21days (rising to 26 days after 5 years continuous service).In addition you will be paid for 8 bank holidays. The Council also currently closes it main offices over the Christmas/New Year period and you will receive 2 extra statutory days in addition to the above entitlement to take during this period.SICKNESS -The provisions of the national Scheme of Conditions of Service apply which provides for up to 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay after 5 years continuous local government service. PENSION -You will be entitled to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. Further details can be provided on request. NOTICE -The period of notice is1month. You will be given a cheque for the full amount of the ticket and the loan will be repaid over a period of 12 months by means of monthly deductions from your salary. There are some terms and conditions, and the scheme is not open to all staff. Bike Loan Scheme: Staff can apply for a loan to purchase a bike or cycling equipment for travelling to work. An advance will be made via cheque (up to the value of £500) and the loan will be repaid over a period of 12 months by means of monthly deductions from your salary.
