Der Verfasser erinnert an die Veröffentlichungen über Ibn al-Jazzar (gegen 898-980) in Frankreich, schildert sein arbeitsames Leben und gibt eine Übersicht seines medizinisches Werkes bevor er seinpharmazeutisches Werk beschreibt (Simplicia, Composita, galenische Formen) . Er unterstreicht besonders die Rolle des persönlichen Experimentierens bei Ibn al-Jazzar, die Trennung zwischen medizinischer und pharmazeutischer Aktivität, seine Besorgnis um die Qualität des Arzneimittels, sein beispielhaftes Verhalten den Patienten gegenüber.
Millenial of Ibn al-Jazzar, Maghrebian pharmacist, physician to the poor and the homeless.
The author recalls the studies of which Ibn al-Jazzar (898 to approx. - 980) has been the subject, then retraces his arduous life and gives a glimpse of his medical work before discussing his work concerning pharmacy (medicinal simples, compound medications, Galenic forms). He underlines particularly the role of personal experimentation in his own home, the distinction he established between the practice of medicine and that of pharmacy, his concern for the quality of medication and his exemplary comportment with patients.
