Bishop's Appeal 2009
Thank you so much for your continued support
of the Albany Diocese and it's many programs that
serve those in need, as well as the average
parishioner.
To date we have been
blessed with
the donation of 294 gifts and pledges in the
amount of $41,770.00.
This leaves us with a balance of
$21,321.00 to reach our goal of $63,091.00.
May God bless you for your generosity to our
2009 Bishop’s Appeal.
Holy Trinity Parish will continue accepting your donations of
non-perishable food items until the economy improves for the
Johnstown Food Pantry at St. John’s Church.
We are especially
in need of jelly, jello, cereal and pancake syrup at this time.
Boxes
have been
placed in all of our worship sites for these donations.

Peter’s Pence Collection - July 25
th
and July 26
th
The theme for this year’s collection,
Cast the Light of Christ
upon the World,
reflects the call to action for the Church in the
United States as expressed by Pope Benedict XVI during his visit
to the United States in April 2008.
Every year, when the Peter’s Pence Collection is taken up
around the world to support the works of the Holy Father,
Catholics in the United States are extraordinarily generous.
The
proceeds of this Collection are used to provide emergency funds to
those who suffer from oppression, disease, war, or natural disaster.
Let us be beacons of hope for those of our brothers and sisters
who are most in need.
Let us answer the call to cast the light of
Christ upon the world.
We ask you to be generous in the
upcoming Peter’s Pence Collection in your Parish.
Together let us
ask the Lord to Bless the Holy father, us and all those in need
throughout the world.

The Holy Trinity Parish Summer Festival Committee would like
to extend its sincere appreciation to all those who participated in
making the 2009 Festival such a success.
Anyone who has assisted in years past will admit that it is as
much fun to pitch in as it is to attend.
Although the group was
smaller than some years, the Festival came together seamlessly and
in spite of the rain on the last night, it was a popular and enjoyable
event.
To mention the names of those who helped would be difficult in
this letter.
Whether someone was involved in the planning, set-up,
cooking, running a booth, behind the scenes, or clean-up, everyone
came together as a family.
Like in any family, our Parish family is
going through a difficult time.
However, the Festival this year
proves that we can come together…for each other.
Again, the committee wishes to express our thanks to all who
helped, as well as those who attended.
We know without each and
every one of you, it could never have been such a hit!
The 2009 Festival Committee

Volunteer Needed
A Family Perspective
– by Bud Ozar
In today’s gospel a child shared his little lunch and thousands
were feed, proof that the smallest act of sharing can have great
significance.
There are people in our lives who are starving
for attention, understanding and affection.
The gospel is clear:
when we share ourselves, miracles happen.
Take time to be
miraculous.
