Powerful bioinformatics tools are required to analyse andinterpret these data. This work focuses on the development of tools for two distincttopics in the filed of Bioinformatics: a pipeline to automatically build databases forthe phylogenetic identification and classification of organisms, as well as a tool for thefunctional characterisation organisms and metagenome studies.Silva - Phylogenetic Classification ARB (1) is a software workbench that isused in the ecological study of microbial communities for more than a decade.
