The opening of the new airport of Angers Marcé (25 km North East of the city) will boost the economy of the area with its 1800 m.air strip the airport is ideal for the short and medium range aircrafts like Airbus A320. One year after the first flight, the traffic figures should reach 20 000 passengers, far beyond the first expectations (15 000). Regional Airlines, based in Nantes, decided to open thirteen destinations from Angers through the Clermont Ferrand hub. The new alliance system between the airlines will enable Regional Airlines to reach the northern part of Europe and the Americas « We hope to get a financial budget within five or six years » declares the airport authority, satisfied of not being left behind in this european transport environnement despite all of the difficulties in completing theproject.
L'ouverture de l'aéroport dAngers Marcé permet à l'agglomération angevine d'améliorer de manière décisive son intégration dans le système urbain national et européen. L'aboutissement de ce projet trentenaire résulte à la fois de la volonté municipale et de la stratégie d'une compagnie aérienne en plein développement : Régional Airlines.
