Resorción de las desemejanzas regionales y nuevas distribuciones - Las regiones francesas fueron afectadas con mayor o menor agudez por la ruptura del año 1974. La naturaleza de sus actividades desempefió un papel indiscutible en estos diversos impactos. El Norte - Pas-de-Calais y Lorena fueron asi víctimas de las crisis siderúrgica y textil. Mas un anilisis pormenorizado pone de manifiesto que el factor sectoral no es el único en juego. La descentralización acaecida en los afios del sesenta creó zonas de industrialización cuyo sistema productivo de fecha mis reciente resistió mejor. Tal es el caso de las regiones del Oeste y de la costa mediterrinea. No obstante, el mapa del desempleo ha evolucionado poco a pesar de que la tasa nacional haya duplicado de 1975 a 1981. Movimientos migratorios anularon. en parte, las desemejanzas régionales respecto a empleo. No puede tenerse por descontado que estos movimientos prosigan a lo largo de los anos venideros. Si manifestasen una ralentización, la población de edad laboral se incremental considerablemente en todo el Norte del país, afectando el mercado laboral.
The reduction of Regional Disparities and the Emergence of New Imbalances - The impact of the 1974 crisis was more or less severe within the various French regions. The nature of their activities was a determining factor in the seriousness of the crisis from one region to the next. The Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Lorraine were, for example, victims of the crisis in the steel and textile industries. Nevertheless, a deeper analysis shows that the factor of sector is not the only explanation. The decentralization of the sixties had created zones of industrialization, whose more recently established production system proved more resistant. This was the case for the regions of the West and Mediterranean Coastal Regions. However, the pattern of unemployment changed relatively little, in spite of the doubling of the national rate between 1975 and 19S1. This was due to the fact that migratory movements have partially counterbalanced regional differences in the area of employment. It is by no means certain that these movements will continue over the next few yetrs. Should they slow down, the population of working age would increase considerably in all the regions of the North, placing added pressure on the labor market.
