Description

Poetry and Rhymes - Over 43 Beautiful Full Color Illustrations
With expressive language and sweepingly descriptive images, Perry Ritthaler paints a portrait of sincere and devoted love, overwhelming passion, and candid emotion. Poems and Rhymes Exploring War, Soldiers, Politics, Animals, Insanity, Faith and Love is sure to touch the hearts and minds of readers everywhere.
The poetry created in the Digital Mind Coach series will help identify the politics and hidden challenges a soldier may face and allows the expression of the thoughts that at times flow through the mind of a soldier on the battlefield or when returning home from the war.
The poetry within these e-books provides a sensible balance of love and faith while high lighting some of the disadvantages found within addiction that at times help to create the insanity on the faces of many people.
With his keen observer's eye, he carefully, lyrically examines subjects from love and heartbreak to death and mistrust, from travel abroad, to vignettes amplifying how the beauty of animals and nature stems from an artist's touch. With these details, Perry paints a portrait of the multi-faceted richness of everyday life.

Dedication

To my readers, friends and family who have supported me during the growth of my life and my writing career. Also to the many soldiers and photojournalists who have fallen through war created on the battlefield.

Preface

This e-book contains poems and rhymes on various themes exploring war, soldiers, politics, animals, insanity, faith and love, all designed to create truthful emotions in the reader’s mind.

The men and women in the military proudly serve their country in many different parts of the world. Every day they face stubborn resistance in their attempts to help other nations rebuild. Yet they perform this duty with great courage, strength and dignity. At the present moment, they are primarily stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is very easy for people who have never served in the military or are without family members in the military to disregard the tremendous sacrifice these individuals unconditionally give to their country. These are the greatest people of our generation because they allow us to sleep peacefully in our homes every night. This book of poetry depicts the feeling of patriotism, love, contemplative thought and faith that I feel when thinking of my brethren in arms. Men and women of the military, I thank you and love you, and this is my gift to you for the service to your country.

I researched war for this e-book because I wanted to be accurate and real, so some of the pictures found in this e-book were purchased and taken and supplied by other people.

I would also like to thank Dave Schellenberg and Marco Snut for supplying me with a few of the pictures that are not about war used to create this e-book and for giving me permission to use those photographs.

The Ones We Loved

The sun is shining in the beautiful blue sky
Our family’s having dinner when we hear the planes fly by
The television reported Iraq was attacked today
My papa looks worried and has forbidden us to play

We have all lived together in the same house for years
I have never seen a war so my papa helps me deal with my fears
My mom died last year so my papa is all that’s left to love
He is my hero that created me with help from Allah above

The bomb blasts sound loud and appear so near
My papa tells us to go into the basement, tells me to sit there
My little sister and I are afraid of the war we face
Papa told us now is the time to be brave and sit in this place

He told me these steel poles are the strongest part of the house
I watched my papa go upstairs while we all act quiet as a mouse
My little sister starts to cry quietly so I hold her close to me
I hear the front door close and I am curious to see

Suddenly the house shakes from a terrible blast in the yard
My sister and I are so curious but we must sit though it’s hard
Then silence fills the air and I cry out “Papa, are you there?”
I hear no answer from my papa and I think this is not fair

After ten minutes we can no longer sit on the hard chair
My papa told us to sit here but I am so curious I don’t care
Quietly my sister and I creep up the stairs and open the door
We look so innocent and are curious to see more

My papa is not in the house and I wonder why
The air smells awful and I am scared and start to cry
I call out to papa, hear no response and I wonder why
Tears are rolling down my face, I cry “Papa, did you die?”

I look outside through a window and the blue sky has turned black
I see rain falling in the air and suddenly my sister touches my back
I jump from being scared, feeling unprepared for this war
Smoke is being washed out of the air and I want to see more

I can see burnt grass and a huge crater in the backyard
Everything beautiful now looks burned and charred
I walk outside to see the yard and I am scared
Walking around the burned yard I feel so unprepared

I am looking for my papa and find his body parts lying everywhere
A burnt skin smell fills the air, his burned skin removed papa’s hair
Smells of my dead papa make me sick to my stomach and I cry
My little sister and I are all alone and cry “Why’d our papa have to die?”

My sister’s body is shaking and she falls to the ground
A bomb has fallen close by and my sister makes no sound
She is not moving, then she cries and moans in pain
I help her up and carry her into the house through the rain

My little sister and I do not know what to do about the war
We are all alone in this empty house and we cry even more
I feel hungry and the food we have left us will not last
The night passes fast; we awaken hungry and eat fast

The city close to us is on fire as black smoke rises into the sky
The beautiful blue sky is full of smoke, clouds sent way up high
We have one friend to phone but the phone is dead
I am afraid to walk far in case I catch a stray bullet in my head

A week has passed and I cry when I think of my papa that died
I miss my mom who would help me when I cried
My love for my mom is so strong that I need to see where she rests
As I go to the grave I see kids with bullet wounds in their chests

I cry when I go into the graveyard to visit my momma’s grave
This is the only symbol of my family that I have left to save
The pieces of papa soon rotted in the heat of the yard
Watching the flies and insects eat my papa’s parts felt hard

Now we have no more school and barely food to eat
Most days we spend playing in the war-torn street
When I grow up I will avenge my papa’s death through war
Someday I will grow big and strong and settle the score

Who Destroyed My Children and Family

I take a picture of the powerful men as they enter the room
Their minds colored with death, faces filled with groom and doom
They have created a war to build democracy in the Middle East
With a lust for killing, on the dead bodies they feast

Telling lies with no compromise they wield their power
Terrified souls waiting overseas hour by hour
Families running scared trying to find a safe place to hide
Listening to the radio hearing how so many have lied

Women and little children are about to die over oil prices
War created devastation building a human rights crisis
Fighting a dictator who wants the euro more than the dollar
working through the UN trying to create his dog collar

The powerful ones calling him an evil man
Smearing his name globally wherever they can
Building terrorism propaganda to scare a nation
Determined to send a country overseas and creating damnation

Telling the world he is a danger to every living soul
Playing the innocent one protecting the world is their role
Lies of weapons of mass destruction cause fear in a nation
Set on a track of high gas prices building financial damnation

Families torn apart treated like old rags thrown away
So many children will die as war fills the days
Pain and suffering fill many hearts torn apart
Wondering why this illegal war was created from the start

Forcing a dictator to fight for his people and land
Invasion to steal his oil is what the government has planned
Afraid of the wealth and power created by the Middle East
Concerned one day Israel may die and be a Middle East feast

Wars created in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine were the plan
Finishing in Afghanistan, cover it up by fighting the terrorism man
Pulling the wool over the eyes of the world while doing war crimes
Thousands killed through war in these evil times

Building a war to kill Muslims forcing Christianity into a fight
Sending the multicultural world into a holy war overnight
People invaded with no place in the world to turn
Watching people die and a country explode and burn

Wars ravaging souls and tearing them apart
Forced into creating moves of desperation from the start
Suicide bombers to fight war planes from a foreign land
Creating retaliation for the war crimes that they planned

Praying to Allah for the strength to fight for their land
So many souls die every day in the blowing sand
Thousands of woman and children died
Because of the evil politicians who have lied

So many will fight the people who create the war
That is the goal as the evil ones cover crimes that soar
Death and fear fill the world in people’s minds
Running to the tune of crooked politicians makes us blind

Afraid of everyone around us, creating insecurity through fear
Covering up the killing of those you loved and held dear
Fueling military enrollment and power that will not bend
Republicans build government debts that will never end

Filling the pockets of oil tycoons at the top
Toppling the average citizen by corporations that will not stop
Government debts borrowed to raise oil prices for a few at the top
War companies creating employment that will not stop

Cover up the employment crisis created by
