The original founder of the Astor fortune was John Jacob Astor, who was a butcher in Walldorf, Germany, in 1784. He came to America in 1784 and joined the Masonic Lodge, becoming the Master of Holland Lodge No. 8 in N. Y. city by 1788. He was always very anti-social and coldhearted.

John Jacob Astor, a member of the Committee of 300, was the wealthiest man in America at the time. He acquired the fur trading company of Astor in a few years, and totally owned it. His family had connections to the Backhouse family in London, and his wife was related to the Brevoort family, both of which were influential in politics.

The Astors are a wealthy family that made their fortune while residing in the New York area. They have all gone to England, and still wield great financial power in the United States through proxies.

The Astors have been prominent in the Group which is Britain’s equivalent to the Skull Bones Society. The Astors, along with about 20 other families dominate the Group, just as certain families like the Whitneys in the U. S. help dominate the Order of Skull Bones.

The Royal Institute of International Affairs, which functions as the British equivalent to the Council on Foreign Relations, was funded by the Astors. The Astors were also involved in the temperance movement, which was an elite created movement just like today’s Apartheid.

The drug war is the modern equivalent of the temperance movement. The Fabian Society was an Illuminati institution that created the Political and Economic Planning group, which was later implemented by the British government.

The most likely meaning of the name is that both Astorga and Astor are variations of the name Astarte, who is the mother of the occult. The family may have moved from Savoy to Walldorf, Germany.
