On an early Saturday morning. I roll over in my bed and begin to open my eyes. I begin to think about yesterday, selling lemonade and meeting a new friend, Tommy Hamburger. The sunlight is shining through my window at the foot of my bed. There was a blue-colored bird with yellow on its wings. It had a curved beak. It was looking into my room. I slowly sit up and put two feet on the soft carpet while in my pajamas. I begin to walk toward the window, wiping my eyes. One step at a time, walking very slow.
I began to look out of the window. I see that creepy old tree. It looks like, it’s watching me. I closed my eyes and shook my head from side to side. I turned around and opened my eyes. I threw my hands in the air and screamed, “It’s Sally’s birthday today!” I began to dance all around my room, jumping on my bed and rolling around on the floor, singing, “It’s S-a-l-l-y-’s birthday to-day, hey! I’m going to eat some ice cream and cake! Hey!”
I made my way downstairs, through the kitchen, and into the pantry. I checked every shelf. I’m looking for one thing: a cereal bar. I start to daydream. I’m in a jungle with gorillas and monkeys. I see them swinging from tree to tree. A little monkey lands on my shoulders and jumps on a branch in front of me. He begins talking in English.
