Selah means to pause and reflect. In other words, to measure the value of what has
been said . Selah is found 71 times in 39 of the Psalms. It is thought to indicate a
pause for reflection similar to the word “Amen”.
About the Author
Donna Elaine Warren is full of spirit and young at heart. She is a loving wife, mother of two darling children and has been blessed with two precious grandchildren. She is a retired Elementary School teacher and currently lives in Texas City, Texas with John, her husband of 42 years,
Even though Elaine and I are sisters, I did not get the opportunity to really know her until we were grown. I learned that she was fun, full of wisdom and an up lifter who was straight to the point.
She has always given great advice, but when it came to receiving advice, it was a little hard. In time, with prayer and God continuously in her life, it became easier.
She possesses all the characteristics of the Holy Spirit ( love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control).
What a great gift!
Now I understand why she chose the title “ Selah ” for her book. Selah means to pause or reflect on the people and decisions that have helped make us who we are today.
May this book be a blessing to each and every person who reads it and reflects on its underlying message.
Eugenia Knight
When we clasp our hands in prayer, God opens His.
German proverb
Happiness
Happiness is a state of mind –
For your thoughts determine
How you feel, what you do,
What course you take or treasures find.
For happiness is a way of travel – not a destination.
Happiness comes when the love you give
Causes a smile upon a face
Or heaviness, in a heart, to erase.
For happiness is a way of travel – not a destination.
Whether you –
Cruise along slowly – stopping to smell the roses
Or race through life like a speeding bullet,
You determine how your life goes…
For happiness is a way of travel – not a destination.
Remember that
“Happiness is a way of travel, not a destination.
Thanks
Thanks is a small word
That shows true gratitude
For the thoughtfulness that others give.
So, today I say to you –
“I appreciate the things you do
To show to others how much you care.”
So, even though thanks is a very small word,
I hope the sincerity you have heard.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart –
Thanks for the memories, of which you are a part.
Thanks.
Use Your Stone
“God has not given us “the spirit of fear”, but of power and of love and of sound
mind.” (2 Tim. 1:7) NIV
David, a youthful boy
With a sling and a stone in hand –
Did bring to Israel peace and joy
When his hand and faith in God, Goliath slay –
His hand and his alone.
For God gives us all the tools we need to succeed.
With this in mind, I urgently plead,
“Use your stone.”
Use your stone to overcome the giants in your life.
You can combat tribulation and strife.
Step forward on faith and your talent –
Make God’s stone to you – relevant.
If you can speak – use your words to build up and encourage.
If you can teach – enlighten a mind.
If you can pray – pray for others – giving them the gift of love.
Let not fear, depression, conformity, greed or pain –
in your life, reign.
Use your stone –
For with God at your side, you are never alone.
David had a sling and a stone.
Joshua, seven days did march.
Moses, a staff did carry.
Abram left home; he did not tarry.
Each used his stone, moved outside his comfort zone
And walked b
