ABOUT THE AUTHOR
STANZA I (OK YOU ASKED)
With time moving super-fast,
When are two people too old?

To be precise, the real question surmised is
When are two people too old to fall in love?
Answers bouncingly bud in this poet’s head
To these wondrous queries are the following:

“ Two people are too old to fall in love if they
Feel too old to even try to hug, cuddle up or
If they believe that sincerely they are too old
To kiss or won’t feel anything at all if they do.”

Put in another way, to maintain things at bay,
Truly, people are too old to fall in love if they
Can’t recall if their first kiss occurred in Spring,
In Summer, Winter, or that year of an early Fall,

When some leaves turned light-colored blue,
While others were purplish, and lavender, be-
Fore really, falling down, seemingly, tossed to
And fro for hours, before reaching the ground.

Furthermore, two people are too old to fall in
Love when they insist they need to resist and
Shun one another because each thinks of the
Other as a fuddy-duddy who lost all one’s sex

Appeal, and for real, is just a gold digger’s patsy
Or someone looking for a handout, or giving no
Consideration for what it means to hang out as
Friends do, doing fun things, exchanging stories,

Sharing, reminiscing past histories as well as being
In synch with one another, whiling the time away,
Vicariously, re-reliving, majestic moments, playing
As children in their own dainty, sandboxes of life,

Years before they became a husband and /or wife,
Or answered to Mommy, Daddy, or sweet Granny.
Moreover, two people are too old to fall in love in
The first place, if they believe that the government
Issued checks are for companionship and true love
Or maintain that partnerships should always be pre-
Arranged by state law, regulated by senior citizens’
Homes, as a way to ensure that everyone is always
On the same page whenever it’s bingo or date night.

Two people are too old to fall in love when or if it’s
An ordeal to remember each other’s first names or
They can no longer remember, simply to say, “I love
You and I like you and I love liking you just the way

You are, and you are my dream that has come true,
And, truly, you are still the sweet apple of my eye.”
STANZA II (BELIEVE)
Too people are too old, really when they find it
So hard to smile or haven’t done so for a while.
Truly two people are too old to fall in love when
They find it an ordeal to laugh at a funny joke or
Laugh at all, thusly, since laughter is said to be

Good medicine, two people are too old to fall in
Love with one another if they can’t laugh at one
Another or laugh at one another’s comedic acts.
Two people are too old when they refuse to say,

“ I like you and I love you just the way you are as
Well as for always really being all that you are.”
Two people are too old if one says, “I thought I
Knew you but here you are still begging me to
Give up my vices, in the name of compatibility.”

The bottom line, however, is two people are too
Old to fall in love when they truly lack an honest

Reason or desire to, truly, fall in love in the Sam
Hell, come hell and high water in the first place!
INTERJECTION (CONCEITED)
Have you been told lately that you are beautiful,
Kind, caring, and as gentle as the little lamb that
Ole nursery rhyme, happy, bouncy girl, Mary had?
Or have you been labeled really terrible, meaning

Like superbad, thusly, your own mother relishes,
Slyly, and gloats in avoiding and disowning you?

Oh, by the way, Mr. Man, grooming over there,
Admiring your “selfies,” and your reflection in
That handheld mirror, do you recall who spoke
To you and said, “You’re the most handsome of

Them all”? Words spoken out of respect, truly
Although you have a way of turning people off.
So, in puffing up your ego, you ostracize your-
Self by focusing so much on yourself, you miss

Out on the joy of living a wholesome happy life.
How people really feel about you and it’s so sad.
TIS TRULY, YOUR BAD!
Now that you’re getting up in age, getting older,
Do you know when people are too old to fall, to
Fall in love that is? Or is it some kind of a secret?
Just thinking out loud! By the way, what say you?
STANZA III (HEY YOU)
Hey you, 1st seat, 1st row, you
Wearing a navy blue pinstriped
Suit, with red and white bowtie.
When are two people too old?
When are two people too old
To fall in or to fall out of love?

What answers spontaneously
To these two queries chime
Within as a melody? Care to
Respond? “Wait later.” Not
Ready to voice, so precisely,
Is that what you want to say?
You do seem too sensitive to
Respond at this time, there-
Fore, let me put it this way:

“ Two people are too old to fall in love
When they are too old to kiss and
Don’t feel anything for each other
Or, in fact, any blasted thing at all.”
People are too old to fall in love
When one or the other no longer
Remembers the moment they first
Fell in love that first time or when
Drinking black coffee in the morning,
They swear it tastes just like green tea,
Suggestive of course that someone is
Deprived of joy or their memory is as
As faulty as their tastebuds or nerves.
Two people are too old to fall in love
If they believe they don’t deserve each
Other or maintain that friendship really
Should be monitored according to age.

Two people are too old when they
Firmly insist that it is easy to resist
One another because each perceives
The other is too old to fall in or out
Of love in the doggone first place.

Furthermore, just to put icing on the cake,
Two people are too old to fall in love when
They can no longer or are unwilling to say,
“ I love you. I like you; I love liking you.
Or I like loving you just the way you are.”

Too people are too old to fall in love
When they find it is too hard to smile
And not having done so for a while,
They think that everything is A - OK.
STANZA IV (REFLECTIONS)
Two people are to old when they insist
Tis natural they must resist one another.

Two people are too old when they can no
Longer say “I like you; I love you
And I love lik
