ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I want to thank God for allowing me to express my thoughts through
Poetry.
I am grateful for the love of my children, Ashaunta, Dee, Dana and Oliver
Who continue to support my writing efforts.
It has been said that life is but a vapor and time passes by quickly so
Just how do you use your time? Have you ever thought about
The seconds, minutes and hours it takes to make up a day? Twenty-four
Hours seems like a long time, doesn’t it? For some of us it’s over too
soon while for others it passes by slowly.
In my opinion lots of things happen to each of us and this book attempts
to express the thoughts, wonders and fears we may experience all in a
day.
HAPPY READING,
INGRID GREEN
INTRODUCTION
We are all familiar with the terms morning, noon and night
Which define different times of the day, but do we express
The thoughts and fears that are associated with these terms?
Most of the time I think we take them for granted until we are
Asked to express what these words really mean. How do they make
Make us feel?
Do we simply ignore these thoughts and feelings hoping they will go
Away?
This book will help explain just what happens all in a day.
ENJOY!
INGRID GREEN
MORNING
THE MORNING NIGHT
Lord what happens in the morning night?
When all is still, and all seems right?
But tell me is everything really o.k.?
Or does it just seem to be that way?
As no one seems to be around,
And only silence can be found.
Did everything truly come to an end?
As we retired for the night my friend?
No, it didn’t for time moves on it’s true,
What does this morning night mean to you?
The morning night is a time most are sleeping,
While some folks may still be up and creeping,
To and fro, yes over here and over there,
May be without a thought or a prayer,
Hoping that surely no one would find,
That they had escaped to your place or mine.
To know what truly goes on in the morning night,
You would capture only if you were up that’s right,
For most folks would be tucked in their beds,
Settled into a night of sleep instead,
Of thinking at this time of day,
When it looks like night but is morning anyway,
What kind of thoughts are going through your mind?
Yes, can you tell me what are you trying to find?
If you cannot sleep in the morning night?
Do you close the door and turn out the light?
And anxiously begin to count sheep?
Or do you just pray to fall fast asleep?
Well lots of things go on in the morning night,
While some are wrong many of them are right,
So let’s just think positive you see,
And then our morning night will be,
Oh so peaceful, yes, it’s true,
‘Till another day begins for me and you.
GOOD GRIEF IT’S MORNING
Good grief it’s morning,
And I can’t stop yawning,
I want to stay in bed,
But it’s morning instead
Yes, it’s time to begin,
To start all over when,
I was getting some rest,
Oh well I must confess,
I’m a night person you see,
Why does morning come easily?
To some folks, I just don’t know,
I can think of lots of places to go
If I was still nestled in sleep,
Then I’d still be counting sheep,
But it’s morning, the start of another day
It’s time to get on my way.
Sometimes I don’t want to get up, that’s right,
