Introduction
When I was a little Girl people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up? Hmmm, I really had no clue but had many fun ideas.
A Hairstylist seemed fun or maybe a performer of some type or maybe a Doctor, like a Psychologist?
All I knew was I loved to brush my hair, cut and style all my dolls and I would get in serious trouble if I cut my sisters hair.
I was very intrigued by people and the adventures of the world. I dreamed of traveling and learning about the way other people lived. I had quite the imagination.
By the way, I was born the same year as Barbie and she looked great in all her clothes and hairstyles. I could dress her for hours praying someday that I could have the life I created for her.
Fun Fact: Barbie’s official birthday is March 9, 1959 , the day she was unveiled to the toy industry during New York Toy Fair. Barbie first appeared in her iconic black-and-white striped swimsuit. Barbie was joined by Ken in 1961. The first Barbie doll was sold for $3.00.
My journey continued as I would beg my mom to take me with her to get my hair cut and styled by her friends. And if you looked at my bang’s she cut for photos it was obvious why. It was that or grow my hair like Crystal Gayle to my feet. I was not letting Mom cut my hair anymore.
She could and would take me with her since two of her friends were stylists. They would let me sweep hair and I got the chance to listen to all the ladies talk about their lives, friends and family as they sat under dryers. Yes, back then there were lines of dryers in the salon and the ladies would get their hair shampooed set and dried under hood dryers for about an hour before they could get it combed out and styled. I think sometimes they forgot I was there. The stories could be a bit adult for the 5 year old me so I would just do my sweeping or sit quietly and wait. My mom had really thick hair so it took a long time to dry.
At age 15 I had the opportunity to go to Beauty School for my junior and senior year of high school. So, I took the opportunity and this gave me an early start and a career launch at 17.
I now realize what a true blessing that was.
After going to beauty school, I realized I could be all the things I thought about being in one job. I quickly learned that becoming a hairstylist would give me the opportunity to be a hairstylist, psychologist, an entertainer and more.
After my first job I realized that I was going to need a lot more training than just beauty school. So, I sought out the best in my industry to mentor me.
They taught me how to really style hair as well as making the client feel like they were the only one in the room. Come to find out exceptional customer service would be my key to success along with becoming the forever learner it took to stay up with the trends.
I am so grateful that the world of hairstyling has given me so many opportunities.
And little did I know that God had an even bigger plan for my life than I could imagine. He would give me the chance to really make a difference in the lives of generations to come.
God’s gift for using my talents would be the opportunity to style hair for weddings, etc. for my clients that have been coming to me for 40+ years. Recently, at a wedding I styled the hair for 3 generations of women. Praise God that I have been blessed with witnessing how life is lived in so many families.
I am sure God still has more plans for my life. And, I cannot wait to see how the next season of my life plays out.
What I do know is that God has a way more expansive version of myself than I can imagine!
I hope for all of you reading this book that this touches and inspires you to seek where God wants to have a relationship with you and expand your life.

Chapter 1
IN THE BEGINNING
What are the odds of you being born?
Dr. Ali Binazir calculated the odds of your parents meeting, given the sheer volume of humans on Earth at any given time. Then he considered the chances of them having a child. Because that wasn’t enough, he also factored in the odds of your ancestors meeting.
His conclusion: “The odds that you exist at all are basically zero.”
Every moment of every day is shaped by your beliefs, your beliefs about yourself, what is possible, and what you are worthy and capable of. If you believe that something is impossible or that you are unworthy of love or success or companionship, your behavior and actions will reflect that.
On the flip side, if we choose to see things— most importantly, ourselves — as miracles, our actions and our behaviors will reflect that.
Our beliefs matter.
It shapes our behavior which shapes and creates our world. This becomes our destiny, who we are, and the world we create.
You are a miracle.
What would you do if you believed this to be true? Who would you become?
What might happen, what might be possible, if you chose to see yourself as a miracle?

We are spiritual beings brought here to have an earthly experi ence
To make a differ ence
To make this world a little better p lace.
We are spiritual beings having an earthly experi ence
Not, earthly beings having a spiritual experi ence.
Our lives begin with the connection of a man and a w omen
Their bodies connecting with sperm and egg
Left inside the women’s body to grow
Like an incubator, her body provides nine months of sa fety.
At birth he or she must leave the mother’s body.
Now breathing on his or her own the journey of this new life be gins.
Each child is assisted by their parents until this child grows big enough to care for themse lves.
Then, onto adulthood where they will make their own decisions from whatever lessons they have learned. Seeking their true purpose, they try on this and that for a fit. Life’s journey reminding them of their vulnerabi lity.
How long and hard the journey becomes is completely up to them.
In the end it is their decision
