Every moment of each day
Is an opportunity to pray
To surrender unto God
All our frustrations and all our pride
To allow the spirit within
To wash and cleans us from our sin
It only takes a moment or two
To allow the spirit to wash over you
You must acknowledge the thoughts of pain
To surface once again
And when you allow yourself to do so
Perhaps some tears will begin to flow
The tears you shed may not even be
The visible ones the eye can see
And the cleansing will have begun
As you continue to acknowledge every one
Of the raw emotions you’ve kept locked inside
And through the years you’ve learned to hide
From yourself and from others
Don’t be concerned with what others may think
Because right now you are on the brink
Of what might be your greatest accomplishment
To rid you of the memories you have come to resent
Now take a moment to allow
The spirit to take away the scowl
That you have worn upon your face for years

As the night falls
I wait expectantly for your call
I hear your voice
In the stillness that envelopes me
Hearkening me to listen

My Constant Companion
You came into my life when I needed someone to care.
And I did not realize that you were always there.
You’ve been right there beside me in my times of need.
All I had to do was acknowledge you and at last I did see you.
You’ve been my constant companion right from the very start.
It’s a wonder I did not realize that you live within my heart.
Now that I have acknowledged you in every sort of way,
I pray that you will guide me as I live from day to day.
I Glorify You
You’ve given me another chance
To prove myself to you
Another chance to live my life
And to glorify you
 
Thru many trials and tribulations,
Ups, downs, stumbles, and falls.
I can only lift my hands to you. (for it was you alone Lord)
You have brought me through it all.
 
I had given it up.
Lost hope!
My spirit crushed and bruised.
But when I cried out to you my Lord,
You gave me another chance,
To glorify you!!!
 
I praise you in the morning.
I praise you in the night.
I praised you when my world turned upside down.
I praise you with all my might.
 
Others may not understand.
Or realize all that I’ve been through.
But I’ll always lift my voice and hands in praise.
As I glorify you.
