Description

Life continuously offers everyone shaking moments. They are intense, profound, life changing. They are traumatic-exhilarating, wonderful-dreadful, uplifting-crushing, motivating-uninspiring, clarifying-questioning, hurtful-caring, malicious-magnanimous, frightening-calming, trusting-doubtful, or lovingly-hateful.
Because those events hit our emotional self, it is sometimes difficult to express them clearly, unravel their significance, understand its impact, rationalize their meaningless essence. When one is having these intense emotional experiences, frequently the most eloquent way to express them is through poetry in as much as it creates a magical world of images, packed with emotions and feelings lived in those moments. Poetry can communicate them because it has language freedom, the lack of rigid sentence construction, the permission to mix images that are even contradictory, yet powerful enough to capture the inner emotional state one is going through. This book is an attempt to capture some of those life shaking moments. May the reader find in these poems some of that magical moment that might express a similar unwritten personal experience.

Poetry has the power to create
its own language,
free from the grammar restrictions
that allows the author
to convey a magical world of images,
packed with emotions and feelings,
that capture the readers’
reaction to life’s key moments
as the actors of the saga lived.
To all the lovers of the power of poetry
my dedication that these images
will provoke in the reader
the emotions captured in each
life segment experienced with the intensity
of the moment lived with the passion
for what Life has to offer.
Ecology - Nature
Blue-White Sphere
Black constellation-packed space,
endless vibration of glittering lights,
backdrop for our blue-white sphere,
dancing its gravitational song
to the music of the Cosmic Symphony.
Speck of finite compact mass,
showing off to your barren celestial sisters
the envy of your womb
filled with billions of conscious selves
and endless forms of Life.
Blue-white-brown planetary home
how big for us to grasp
and yet how small if you must survive
            the foolishness of our greed
            the blindness of our selfishness
            the destruction of our technology.
Space-ship earth,
how tiny and fragile you look
floating in the flickering darkness
of our centillion stary Milky Way path.

One Earth, One Country
I marvel at our blue spaceship planet,
majestically floating, effortlessly gliding
in the Infinity of a seamless black velvet matrix,
having no beginning, no end,
framed in a symphony of a billion
glittering firefly diamond stars
all singing its cosmic hymn celebrating
the beauty, the wholeness, the sacredness
of the home of Humanity.
From this celestial balcony
I contemplate the magical roundness
cuddling in its emerald water-bosom,
massive-lush continents sustaining Life,
the fruit of an ever-faithful generous land.
I see a hopeful conscious species
awakening to the Vision of One Earth
having no hateful divisions of country frontiers,
skin color, religion, or social class.
I witness One Humanity joyfully recognizing
its magnificent Divine Origin
while proclaiming reverently,

“One Earth…, One Country…, Our Home”.

Death Existential Angst
Death’s Treasure
Life’s greatest moments
are awe striking,
for we touch the Mystery
and find our limits,
incapable of apprehending
the fullness of the Transition
we fear so much
for we have named it, “death”.
Life’s greatest treasure
is our gift of Immortality.
Grab it and live forever.

Gikongoro, The Phantom of A Genocide
May. 2000
I have seen the phantom
of an abominable genocide
21.000 remains of parched skin,
sunken skulls by force of mallet blows,
corps tied together by death ropes,
legs arched into grotesque symmetry
pain stretched unto skin
of featureless faces,
finger joints broken
into inconceivable positions,
necks turned into absurd angles,
jaws forced out of place
with no compassion,
hundreds of skulls lined up
waiting inspection,
neatly piled bones defying gravity,
shreds of cloths glued
to mummified skeletons,
turf’s of hair pulled out by force,
horror without limit
visible in eyeless sockets,
and rictus of battered faces,
panic drawn on teethless mouths,
merciless smashed bones,
disbelief lived in a second of death,
petrified for the collective memory
on those corpses silenced
by a collective genocidal rage.
I have contemplated
your shame, Gikongoro,
exhibited to the world
as a silent witness
of the madness of a social group
showing the worst of itself,
having lost all dimension of the sacred,
the annihilation of all moral code,
the slashing of all plights,
the loss of all sense
of respect for individuality,
the exhibition of the worst of a Humanity,
capable of destroying Life,
in an orgy of blood.
I have smelled the stench of pain,
accumulated on 21.000 Lives,
massacred in a wave of Violence,
        without any rationale,
        without any sense
        without any Humanity present.
I have lost my breath
seeing those corpses
laying on imp
