Description

A poetic journey of self-discovery as a woman sets down a thoughtful path to fulfill her destiny among the stars.

A sunrise of pink purple splendor,
A blanketed forest of snow.
A loving embrace soft and tender,
The crunch of our footfalls below.
I surrender to sweet grey November,
A dazzling crystalline glow.

I have danced over frozen pond waters,
And swam across cold winter skies.
Preceded by Pleione’s daughters,
And their angst for my glorious rise.
I will forge my own fate and my fortune,
Where the stars shine my name in their eyes.

But our wonderland world of perfection,
Erupts with the sound of a choir.
Peaceful silence now met with objection,
And seven strong voices inquire,
“Self-reflection demands a correction,
Will you repent or will you face the FIRE?”

I’m in love with you,
You’re in love with me.
Stars align and they agree,
This is our destiny.

I will not live minimal or diminished,
I’ll give my all and I’ll fall when I’m finished!
My heart shall inspire and lift others higher,
Our beauty will be sanctified!
In meteor showers and fields of starflowers,
My love and my life Stellified!

Part I

Starsong
STARS:
Under the Stars there’s a newborn creation,
Under the Stars she lies.
Under the Stars lives a bright constellation,
Under the Stars she dies.
We watched the billions come and go,
And noticed very few.
But,
Before the day that she was born,
Her fate was one we knew.
Although we’ve known her tragedy
Before her time has come.
Still,
We’re genuinely sorrowful
Her trial has begun.
Under the Stars comes a soothing elation,
Under the Stars she’ll rise.
We saw her heart still beautiful
In life and in her death,
And kept her love still dutiful while struggling for breath.
We carved her story into starlight
So our watchers can beware,
And relish reading of a love as pure as it is rare.

The Seven Sisters
STARS:
Here enter seven sister seers,
Enslaved to their fanatic fears.
Hear them singing in a chorus,
Songs within the heart of Taurus.
SEERS:
“We are the sisters of the night!”
SEER 7:
I am the Seventh.
The sky opens wide with Summer beams,
All golden sunny.
The rivers in my land are wealthy creams,
And golden honey.
But the Stars above me whisper …
STARS:
Winter …
SEER 7:
I see Winter storms are coming.
I can understand the warning.
SEER 6:
I am the Sixth.
I long only for the drifting,
Dreamy mist so slowly shifting,
Cotton clouds ever uplifting.
Far above soft Summer skies,
I can hear the whisper.
STARS:
Winter …
SEER 6:
My breeze upon the lazy Summer days,
Will freeze into the hazy Winter greys.
SEER 5:
I am the Fifth.
Purple lilacs roses red,
Greens and leaves and petals spread.
A field of graceful flowers growing,
Blues and playful yellows glowing.
Their perfect frame
Spells out my name.
But I hear the Stars that whisper …
STARS:
Winter …
SEER 5:
Where the icicles fall,
The snow covers all …
SEER 4:
I am the Fourth.
The rainsong sings along my name.
The drip drip drip dropping
Of springtime sprinkled spatters sopping;
Happy drops along the sidewalks hopping.
But to my fear, I can hear
The whisper …
STARS:
Winter …
SEER 4:
The Stars above will also rain,
Blood of cosmic sisters slain.
SEER 3:
I am the Third.
The lulling call upon the sea
The rolling waves
The deep
The free
The roaring squall is also me.
But navigating lights upon me,
Threaten of a force to stall me.
STARS:
Winter …
SEER 3:
A frozen crawl
Without thaw.
SEER 2:
I am the Second!
The legions of the ants in union,
The hive mind of the bees’ communion,
The pestilence of flies and worms,
The plague of locusts’ living storms.
A shiver …
Silence my swarms of insects droning.
A whisper …
Silence the shrill cicadas groaning.
STARS:
Winter …
SEER 2:
Wings upon the winds are bracing,
Against the frozen ice storms racing.
ALCYONE:
I am the FIRST!
I wield my soul as a torch,
And shadows flee before me.
My incendiary heart leaves scorches,
Where I’ve cleansed away impurity.
STARS:
In the Summer,
Alcyone you will kill her …
SEERS:
“Taurus!”
STARS:
Taurus!
ALCYONE:
Death beneath my hooves!
Death upon my horns!
I am the bottomless hunger.
The FIRE!
Insatiable in my desire.
My passionate ambitions all ignite.
I dream to see the world in LIGHT!
STARS:
But in the Winter …
ALCYONE:
I shudder to a cold chill blow,
To suffocate my warming glow.
STARS:
The Seers arrive above the tree line,
Following supernal star signs.
Overlook a restful city,
Seeking one of prophecy.
But,
She was undervalued and called worthless.
Why would she trust a stranger’s focus,
On her small life that’s gone unnoticed?

The Starhuntress
SAVRINA:
My mother left her child,
Her love feigned and beguiled,
Hath she no care for me?
My father found a whore,
He loved those strangers more,
Than he hath giveth me.
Am I alone?
“All alone …”
I wish a star would fall,
Shatter my lonely pall,
Seclusion at an end.
Maybe once here on Earth,
The starstone could find worth,
To be my only friend.
Am I alone?
“All alone …”
I call myself Savrina.
I don’t use my own surname.
My kin cast me no honour,
So they shan’t share in my fame.
Hang around, yes, you’ll see me cry,
But there’s more to me than shame.
Don’t think me so depressed,
In spirit I’ve been blessed,
Will nay change how I live.
I’d prefer loneliness,
Than friends who be remiss,
The faithless I misgive.
I am alone!
“All alone …”

Seers Arrival
SEERS:
“No Savrina,
We come from far away.
Savrina,
Listen to what we say.
We are Seers,
Blessed with the gift of foresight.
And the Stars,
Whispered to us of your plight.”
SAVRINA:
“The Stars never cared before,
I won’t hear more.”
SEERS:
“You will find love,
And he may be your soulmate.
It’s not enough,
Two bloodied paths you two create!”
SAVRINA:
“You taunt me with tales of a love that draws near?
Take a moment to look - I’m the only one here!
I’m alone in this world you have nothing to fear.”
STARS:
Melodramatic!
Extra theatric!
SEERS:
“We saw these skies,
Will rain with rock and fire!
We saw demise,
Pairs freedom from your mire!”
SAVRINA:
“You tell me that soon all the stars will descend?
Though I remain unsure of what you portend.
You are deceivers, my faith you’d misspend!”
STARS:
Ophelia-antic!
Obedient tragic!
SEERS:
“Savrina please!”
SAVRINA:
“You’re enthralled to an ancient lore,
I shall ignore …”
STARS:
Seers leave the city almost mourning,
Wonder why she ignored their warning.
Maybe they misread nighttime canvas,
Maybe exaggerated status.
SEERS:
“Regardless of if she obeys us,
We found her and that’s advantageous.
If we can keep her comfortable then we can change our fate.
Keep her calm or scared or lonely and our ruin will abate.”
STARS:
Savrina lives now somewhat nervous,
Could she design a higher purpose?
Still days pass
