About the Author

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
Preface
In my book Poems for My Abba , I focused on poems and praise for our Abba, our Heavenly Father, to honor Him; His Son, Jesus; and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity. This book also contains poems and praise, but I chose to focus on the Bible, the words of my Abba—our Abba—the inspired words of God. My continued hopes are, especially for those who have never known Him and for those who have fallen away from Him, that something in here will strike a chord of emotion, a spark of desire to read His words and know Him or return to Him, God, our Abba. I also hope and pray especially for the children of Abraham, God’s beloved chosen people, that someday His twelve tribes will return to Him, their Abba, and accept His Son, Jesus Christ, as their Holy King and Savior.
Acknowledgments
I dedicate this book to all of those who have never known our Abba or His Son or have fallen away from Him. It is my hope and prayers that they will know Him or find their way back to Him.
This is also dedicated to God’s chosen people, the twelve tribes of Israel. I especially hope and pray that they come back to Him and accept and believe in His Son, who is also their Holy King and Savior.
Also, a most loving and special thank you to my wife, Pamela, a soulmate whose gentle guidance, encouragement, faith, enduring patience, and love greatly contributed to the completion of this book.

Introduction
The Bible is the true inspired Word of God, and all the verses contained within are important. However, for the purpose of this book, I have chosen to focus on, and to share with you, biblical texts and verses that personally impacted and inspired me. This was during my daily travels and journeys of reading the Bible.
When I first began preparing for this book, I took note of every verse that I found to be fascinating. While doing this daily, I soon had recorded 405 verses from the Old Testament and 805 verses from the New Testament for a grand total of 1,210 favorite verses! I suddenly realized that I was about to embark on a complete summarized version of the entire Bible.
So naturally, I had to trim this down a bit. Even trimming it down, I still was able to include and focus on many verses. These were verses I found to be especially inspiring and revealing of the incredible love and mercy that God shows and has for us. To fully appreciate the Word of God, it must be read and consumed every day. Although we all live incredibly busy lives, we still need to make time to stay connected to our Abba and His Word daily. Once you get started, it is so easy to establish and maintain a daily, routine, Bible-reading devotion.
Choose whatever time of the day works for your schedule. Early morning before the busyness starts, maybe some quiet time in the afternoon, during a break at work, or maybe in the evening to calm the spirit after a trying day and help wind down for tranquility, serenity, and sleep. Consider it your daily visit with your most important family member, your heavenly Father, God. Consider it personal, quiet, alone time just for you and Abba. I find that this is a daily renewal and charge for the batteries of my faith and soul. Despite all the distractions of the world, His Word keeps me focused on my mission, goal, and ultimate accomplishment.
The Word of God is awesome! I hope that reading this book makes you think about and dwell on eternity. An eternity of love, peace, and happiness with our heavenly Father, our Abba, and a desire to get to know Him through His words in the Bible. To be with God for eternity is the mission, goal, and ultimate accomplishment!
All glory to God, and may God bless you all!

I am just a fellow helpless sinner, no better than anyone else. However, although helpless, I am not hopeless. By the grace of God go I, literally. Despite all my imperfections, faults, mistakes, and sins, I have hope an d forgiveness. I have been given this through the gift of salvation from the sacrifice on the cross by Lord Jesus Christ, my Holy King and Savior. This might sound familiar if you read my book Poems for My Abba. That is because I am using the disclaimer from that book for the one you are now reading. I, like everyone else, must guard my thoughts, words, and actions, and pray daily for forgiveness for my sins.
So, with all this talk, concern, and anxiety about sin, where did it start? Well, I guess a good place to start at is in the beginning, in the first book of the first half of the Bible, the Old Testament, Genesis. In this book is detailed the beginning of all creation, which also includes the beginning of sin. That is, the original sin committed by Adam and Eve when they refused to obey God’s command to not eat from the tree of knowledge.
This act is found in Genesis 3:4–7:
“But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.”
Three major events occur in this one incident. First, we are introduced to the “father of all lies,” Satan, the devil, God’s perpetual opponent, and our eternal enemy in the form of a snake. Second, there is an introduction to our first earthly parents, Adam and Eve. And third, we are introduced to sin, the original sin of Adam and Eve refusing to obey the commandment of God not to eat any fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Despite being given everything they would ever need in the garden of Eden, the original couple could not obey that commandment and thus, committed the original sin.
There is something else we learn from this Bible passage. Satan obviously lies to Eve, telling her that it was God who lied to her because she, “will not surely die,” if she eats of the fruit; and furthermore, after eating the forbidden fruit, she, “will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Thus, we have the first great temptation, and what does it revolve around? Power and control. Trying to elevate oneself to be on the same level as God. A temptation to be all powerful. So, what do we have for our contestants behind door number 2? Is it as promised by Satan? Eternal life? Being as intelligent, powerful, and on the same level as God? No. None of the above.
After being given anything and everything they would ever need, this couple had only one job. One job. To not eat from that one tree. Their one and only job. And they blew it. Both, not just Eve. Adam tries to blame Eve, and in the first ever recorded, “The devil made me do it,” moment, Eve tries to blame the snake. God will have none of it. No excuses, this loss was a tota
