Description

Following civilization’s collapse, a group of wise women seek supernatural connection to find spiritually suitable mates to restart a peaceful, loving, and inclusive society.
The twenty-first century is facing worldwide disintegration. The spiritual systems are falling apart, revealing the lack of all that used to sustain humanity as notions of separation prevail. However, inclusion is essential for survival. Profound love is more powerful than hate, but those in power amplify/ hate, destroying humanity in the process.
After the collapse of Western civilization in North America, survivors grounded in healing love flee south. Seven millennia later, an isolated outpost of women wants to share its hard-earned wisdom. These earth-based shamans are losing the energy to continue, unless they can connect with the Underworld of Dreaming Nature to find suitable males to join them.
Their quest attracts other “remnants” that also wish to regenerate the planet and return joy to the world. Paradigm shifts are required to reinvigorate the inevitable toxic collapse of a corrupted society, hope rests in the hands of feminine energy and hard-earned wisdom.

The story opens after the collapse of Western civilization in North America and the few survivors, grounded in healing love, flee south. Seven millennia later, in the 94 CE, an isolated outpost of women shares their hard-earned wisdom. As the loss of their generative energy is placing the continuum of life in great danger, they seek to connect with the underworld of dreaming nature to secure suitable males to join them and save humanity. Their quest attracts other “remnants” who also wish to regenerate the planet and return joy to the world.

Note to the Reader
It is advisable to suspend judgements based on presupposed beliefs. Just as these characters look within to discover what sabotages their best-laid plans, we humans must open our hearts and minds in order to imagine a better world for all life, especially at this time of manufactured chaotic divisions. Strengthening our ability to access the underlying nonordinary reality that supports us behind the scenes reveals a rich terrain rarely seen or experienced in ordinary reality. Learning to navigate these hidden realms brings an ineffable richness to our lives, without the need to adhere to inherited but limiting fixed doctrines. Ascended masters from all religions and traditions live in peace and harmony within these invisible realms. We must raise our vibrations by loving all that exists as we break through the limiting shackles of dogmatic confines that cause us to be less than our highest potential.

I would like to acknowledge Curt Jon Wells, my partner in life and a meticulous proofreader.
I am also deeply indebted to Catharine Dolcater Clarke, my BodySoul sister who patiently over years attempted to turn a visual artist into a writer, a unique challenge.
Finally, I thank my two loving children for teaching me the value of love and kindness in a less-than-caring world.

PART 1
Gathering of the Survivors

1
A Chance Encounter— Twenty-First Century
Overcome by a predawn dream, I find myself suspended in a murky undersea world. A female sea lion emerges from the gloom and swims to me. Gently gathering my right hand into her open mouth, she escorts me down, descending into the depths of this dimly lit sea. There, I witness the glow of a luminous angelic being, an archangel. She conveys her support for me. I am in awe and so startled that I can breathe underwater.
Upon awakening at dawn, I am drawn to my favorite outcropping of rocks overlooking the entrance to San Francisco Bay. Gathering myself, I pull on warm pants and sweaters and drink a quick cup of coffee. When I arrive at my outpost, I settle into the familiar indentation that holds me comfortably and secure. A pair of black Pacific dolphins swim past, heading inland. They are a joy to see; we rarely do these days. The sea lions gather in their feeding area among the mingling incoming and outgoing tides. I watch them feast on the fish that often feed here. One female stops and turns her gaze toward me. We cannot get enough of each other, riveted by our intense connection. I open my journal and begin to write my impressions and any messages I receive from her.
I notice peripherally that someone has joined me a meter or so away. Too focused on writing down my impressions, I don’t look up. When I finally do, my sea lion is nowhere in sight; I guess she needed to feed herself. I want to thank her and say goodbye. Suddenly, she bursts forth from below and into my visual field and looks directly into my eyes again. Tears come. We acknowledge each other. I wish her an abundant feed and thank her for her blessings. Both the dreamworld and ordinary reality have merged at this moment.
With tears still in my eyes, I look over toward the stranger sitting quietly nearby. The early morning chill challenges the warmth of my sweaters. Witnessing my shivering frame, he offers to lend me his jacket. I hesitate. I do not know this man, but he feels so familiar. I know such openness can be dangerous, but I feel a benign and sweet connection. I was tenderized by my interaction with the sea lion. I accept his offer, feeling chilled to the bone. Good hearts in our world do exist , I say to myself, believing it propitious to connect with those who might be soul allies. We need such a community as we live through such deteriorating conditions everywhere.
The man leans over and hands me his jacket, still warm from his body. We sit next to each other for what feels like an endless amount of time. I tell him about my mystical encounter with the sea lion. He listens and nods as if he has had similar experiences. His name is Stephen.
“I am Rachel,” I say, looking into his eyes.
Both of our lives change dramatically after this synchronistic encounter.
Stephen’s from Seattle but recently moved to the Bay Area, having spent years living up and down the Pacific Coast.
“Up the coast, I spent many seasons trying to help the orcas survive the massive salmon die-off and extreme ocean pollution from noise, chemicals, debris. Disheartened with the monied interests thwarting our every move and the locals being convinced that we would cost them their livelihoods, I gave up. These same corporate interests continue to demonize our local indigenous groups. The large commercial fisheries and logging companies had too much to lose. Our reverence for our beautiful, abundant world seemed frivolous to most people who did not comprehend the deeper sacred interconnections and their importance to our survival.”
I sigh a familiar sigh. “They also did not understand how the massive logging efforts were killing ocean life as well by depleting the available iron at the bottom of the food chain.”
Stephen nods.
Tired of this sad story, I suggest we go to my favorite place for hot chocolate and wonder aloud if he might like to join tomorrow’s ocean cleanup. He responds that he’d love to before I even finish my invitation. I realize we’re attuned. I find that if I focus and expand my inner vision at the same time, I pick up inner glimpses into his mental meanderings. Entranced, I know he senses this too. I share what’s happening for me, and we play with this silent communication, laughing wi
