Description

The stock of accumulated fairy tale literature?
Surprisingly it might be smaller/be fewer than you think/surmise. Searching the internet for “fairy tales the world cherishes”, the number came to no more than a “round ten” or so of the best and most familiar household names, ones. As also with poetry on specific subjects and themes, especially those themes that I choose for my poems, THE FIELD IS WIDE OPEN FOR LACK OF COMPETITION.
Fairy tales being known to be good for kids in many a’ way, including:
- they teach that “good” always triumphs over “bad”, which serves to instill the idea firmly in children’s minds that they should/ought to fight for Right as well, emulating their fairy tale heroes and heroines when they become grown and go out into the world.
- the stories most often have a “moral” or “lesson” to be drawn from them, from which kids can learn the many facets/dimensions of Right from Wrong, Wise from Foolish, and Caring from Uncaring, to name only a few.
- fairy tales abstract from the “mortal” human condition, and lift us up into a world (lift us up where we belong, where the eagles cry on a mountain high!), free of limitations where “hero” and “heroine” without fail, “live happily ever after”.
What good can possibly come from such a blatant denial of Reality and the human condition as we know it?
Could it be that it raises/lifts kids’ thinking “above the clouds and rain, way above the hurt and pain”, the woes and heartaches of this life, and would also equip them for the life as a pastor/preacher? hehe
If this book has one contribution to make, it is hopefully to add to the existing stock of positivity-writ-large, “fairy tales the world cherishes”, (and to the stock of pastors!).

I’d Smile for Me - For Sure! (true confessions) LoL!
I’d smile for me!
Once upon a long ago night, I only created molehill,
of mentally ill/facetious/clowning around, words, harmless in themselves,
the mountain ( i.e. weather troubles ) was NOT me (nor could I possibly foresee!),
It would not have gone beyond one night’s duration, were it not for a Powerful*
Bad Being’s intervention*, and escalation! Took it upon himself (100% responsibility)
to convert “innocent words” into “guilty actions”. A world of difference between
a) and b), you see, call it culpability!
Thank you Chris, are you my friend?
I was ill, please forgive me, let’s let, old wounds, mend! Words are nowhere a crime, Some
within (d), acted upon them. His choice/his responsibility, NOT mine!
Ie “took advantage” of my crazy/facetious night, really not very nice (of him)!
Would not let me take it back, then or ever!
So, he’s the mutual enemy of us both, NOT me, my friend!
Why would I smile for me?
I am a good (but imperfect) man and a reasonably guy,
And can put myself in those shoes of mine!
There but for the Grace of G, I, I’d see!
And so, innocence being innocence, and fair being fair,
I’d tell the whole world, loud and clear,

Amen, I AGREE!
Take care,
Carry on, carry on!
Chris Nelson;)
* my doctors and my medical records attest the above - is true!
** gold: I didn’t do anything, nor did anything about me do anything (no capability) which adds up to = an Innocent Bro’….!
- If somebody like me, asked ME for a PARDON, or similar solution, what would I say? No problem, friend, I see you’ve been through a lot through no real fault of your own. I’m only too glad to help your situation to improve, and, by the same token, help myself, by ending troubles for me, too!!!!!! Wouldn’t that be something to celebrate!
* to the extent I was the unwilling “prophet” mouthpiece of Gosh 158, I am not even responsible for what I said.
** The question remains: “Who did it?” I posit that it’s one and the same being with the great big power to make the sun blink/waver. NOT ME! (for me that blink/waver isone great bloody load on my back that I have to carry on my back all my life long!)

Sunshine Song
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are grey.
You’ll never know, dear, how much I love you.
We are lovers, and lovers we must stay,
We must stay together forever and a day!
Our love will grow stronger with each passing day!
How will the story end, you ask?
The nicest thing about fairy tales is that they never end.
I think You, Grace, and me/myself and I,
Will be quite happy to remain characters in a fairy tale rhyme!
Cradled between the pages of a fairy tale book,
We’ll never lack for stories to read and tell.
Won’t we need food, clothing, shelter,
and other amenities to survive?
Take the lead of Ms. Grace Leathers and me,
The book is our home, ink is our clothing,
and for food, what do we do? Why, we
grow fat off the land, nourishment for
we will draw from the stories themselves,
we will neither need food nor drink,
because our tiny bodies need only
their spirit to survive, it will give us
all the strength and energy we need,
What use have we for a body, when
as spirits we only need to read!
Won’t we grow bored reading the
same books again and again?
I can see that might be a problem,
if the books in which we appear,
are not sufficient in number and excitement,
but if we do it right, they will feel like coming
home to the spot we love best, which is
with You, me, and Grace, in our love nest!
Ah! But without bodies how will we make love?
Elementary, my dear Watson, sex is of the
body but love is of the spirit, and all good
matches are made in heaven above, which
is the source of truth, beauty, and love!
Best regards,
Chris Nelson)

A great big thank to y’all concerned!
What do I like best about working with/for xlibris?
There are a good many things I could mention, for foremost is the willingness and enthusiasm that greets me whenever I have a new book project in the works for them. Thank you for your ongoing interest in my work, an author always likes to be appreciated!
The Carriers
A great big smile and thank you goes out to the two couriers, or carrier pigeons, or even better, courier pigeons: United Parcel Service of the States, and John Purolator of Canada. Who carried all the literary material in their beaks, in an envelope, picked it up off the ground, at Point A (Kanata, Ontario) and flew as straight as a bee line to Point B (Bloomington, Indiana), and deposited it at the feet of Chris Orleans, my publishing consultant. And about 6-9 weeks later, the whole process repeats itself in reverse order.
The courier pigeon carries copies of the finished product back to me, the author, who is happy indeed to see his labours of love come to fruition, holding them in his hands at last! All thanks to you. I know my books are always in good hands with you! (pls. go with UPS on way back to me)
Foreword
The Dog’s Preamble
“Look how far I’ve come since I was rescued by Ms. Grace!
Now, I have the run of the house AND the garden!
I could ask for nothing more and nothing less from Grace!
Only one thing missing: Ms. Grace’s hand in marriage!
We’re holding a competition of all the garden animals,
to see who gets her, called the “Grace Leathers Invitational”
May the best animal win! I’m the odds on favourite to win, by
a landslide! I am the most fun and have the best brains.
And, even though I am no raving beauty, neither is the
competition. In fact, when it comes to mirror mirror
on the wall, who’s the most beautiful of them all?
I have only the cat to worry about, and who would
trade a personable, friendly, and lively dog for
an aloof, introverted, and indolent cat sunning
herself on the front porch all day, is her idea of
her calling in life, that and caching mice, or if
she is a “ratter”, she catches rats. By contrast,
the dog fancies himself a hardworking creature.
Doing what? Unless he is a retriever, the dog’s idea of
work is to get himself into the fresh outdoors and be led
about/steered about by his lord and mistress
at the end of a long leash. His only real work consists
of renewing territorial markings, and of making
frequent stops for pee and pooh eliminations
against the nearest tree stem. Sometimes,
such as with sled dogs, dogs can be found
doing real work as well. What about the
role of the dog as defender of the place, hearth,
and home? Ironically, while the dog feels he
is performing a vitally important funcion, by
warning inhabitants of a possibly dangerous
intruder, or barbarian at the gate, people don’t
seem to understand and shout and scream
for Winston to tete-tois, give up, be silenced.
Winston’s reply to calls for him to give up,
be silenced, roll over and play dead, understandably
fall on deaf Winston ears. Winston feels a dog’s bark,
is a dog’s bark. He says: I am what I am, my bark
belongs to me and nobody else but me! You must
learn to love my bark if you love me - w
