In this book, we’re going to talk about the history of Ancient Egypt. So, let’s get right to it!
The Egyptian civilization lasted for thousands of years. Historians and scientists have found it useful to divide up the periods of Egypt’s history in order to study it. The major time periods are the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms. In between these major periods were intermediate periods.

PREDYNASTIC PERIOD (5000 BC through 3100 BC)
Although this time period spans over two thousand years, archaeologists haven’t found very many written records and there are few artifacts as well. It’s known that there were Stone Age settlements in the northeast region of Africa.
The people there began moving away from a hunting society to one that depended on agriculture for food. Their development of arts, politics, and technology were the beginnings of what Egyptian society would become at its height. The Stone Age people already had rituals for the deceased. Historians believe that they also had a strong belief in the afterlife.
