First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the gift to write and touch the lives of millions of people around the world. Second, I'd like to thank my family, which is too many of you to name and I always forget somebody and get in trouble, not this time. I would also like to thank my staff and writers, which are also too many to name but you know who you are.
Honestly, I have written so many novels that I don't even keep count, but this project was special and a real labor of love. I truly mean that. I'd be lying if I said this was easy, because it's not easy being a successful writer. Each project is different. I can sit down at my computer with an idea that I am sure I'm going to write and the characters take on a mind of their own, and just take over the book.
Case in point, Kadisha and Rah-Rah, as well as Mellow; it's always some drama, mayhem and murder. I try to stick to the script and make it simple when writing a scene and I know where I want to go with it, for instance, a simple murder scene. My mind says just shoot the person and get it over with, then the character says, "No, this is personal. I want to slowly torture them." So I end up writing a scene that is forced into my mind by the character taking over me and beefing with the other characters in the process and the book ends up being longer than I want.
I am a writer first, and this is what I love so I just let my mind go do its thing. With this story, I'm just letting it go. I am not trying to shove anything down anybody’s throat; I actually love this. To be honest, I try to listen to the voice of the fans, the people that have supported me for years: you. If I get enough reviews, I will rush to get out another book in this series ASAP, but at the same time, if you say that’s enough, I will humbly bow out. As a writer, I've learned that you can't have soft skin, nor can you please everybody, but I'm going to do my damn best to be one of the best urban writers the world has known since Donald Goines.
Thank you so much for supporting me and my staff. I am nothing without you. Don’t forget to check me out on my Facebook page, Author Leo Sullivan, or you can find me on Instagram, or visit our website at www.leolsullivan.com
Also, I'd like to acknowledge all the brothas and sistas trapped behind the enemy lines in neo-slave prisons. I love you! Keep your head up. I was once there, too. As long as your mind is not incarcerated, you will forever mentally be liberated.
One last thing, I'd like to show homage to my mentor and the man that taught me EVERYTHING I needed to know, Dr. Mutulu Shakur. I will see you soon on the other side.
Peace & Creativity,
Prologue

The Killing Field
Kadisha
I walked out wearing only boy shorts and Mellow’s wife-beater t-shirt with some Louis Vuitton sandals. Somebody had their music turned up loud; the pulsating beat thumped hard in one of the vehicles. The mosquitos were on full attack. As I walked, fanning them away from me, I strolled up and my crew gathered around.
I was in a hurry. I needed to talk to Rah-Rah. Yes, he was wild as fuck; but he was the heart and soul of the crew. He was also that dude that every crew needed on their team, who could implant the fear of God into any opposition, forcing them to respect our gangsta!
Vipers of car exhaust fumes billowed like a dense fog. Dirt, bugs, and debris rose in a dark gray cloud as I approached in an ominous hue of the incandescent moonlight and equally bright car headlights. At first I couldn’t see what was going on; however, the loud music and some human wailing sound beckoned me.
I noticed Shamika with both her hands spread over her mouth and her eyes wide like she was watching something terrifying. I could vaguely make out Rah-Rah’s gritty baritone voice through the music. He was yelling and it sounded like there was an animalistic, painful howl coming from somewhere in the mystic night.
Why are the car motors on full throttle, roaring like we are in the Indy 500 Car Race? I wondered.
As soon as I pushed past Wayne and a few of the hired henchmen, I walked into the pool of limpid light. There was the dude, Adrienne Greene. Both his legs and arms had chains to the automobiles as he lied in the grass on his stomach. He was naked in a puddle of blood as Rah-Rah stood over him, looking like a crazed sociopath with his nappy afro sticking straight up as he talked to dude with a menacing growl.
“Nigga, you gone tell us who put you up to this! Why y’all hav’ta kill the family?”
The guy grimaced in pain as he languished in torment in the grass, frantically trying to escape. Rah-Rah had intentionally placed him on top of a huge bed of red ants. The large ants were in a frenzy, devouring him, biting all over the guy’s face neck and torso, even his dick, leaving angry red welts all over his body. They had already excavated a hole in his eye, munching on his eyeball.
But what really got my attention as I neared in the lambent moonlight was when I saw the guy’s legs chained to the SUV with the motor screaming and his arms chained to the Ram pickup truck. Dough, Rah-Rah’s friend, was at the wheel of the monster truck, anxious to obey any command to drive and pull dude’s body apart. Rah-Rah was in the process of extreme torture, trying to make the guy talk.
My breath got caught in my throat after it dawned on me what was going on. Rah-Rah was about to snatch dude apart by ripping his legs and arms from his body.
“Ohhh, god.” My stomach started to churn.
Rah-Rah raised his hand and the SUV began to slowly back up. I thought I caught a glimpse of Wayne inside the SUV. The pickup truck also slowly began to inch backwards and the guy’s chained body began to rise from the ground like he was slowly levitating in the gory lights as he screamed in agony.
“Sheit!!” I gasped, taking a step backwards as my hand flew up to my mouth.
Where does Rah-Rah get these crazy ass ideas from? I was perplexed.
“Fuck boy, I’m finna split your ass apart like butchered chicken if you don’t tell me why y’all niggas did it. Who was behind the murders?”
“Okay! Okay! I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you,” the guy screamed as the bugs began to cover his body like a red plague. If Rah-Rah didn’t kill him, the vicious red ants certainly would. They could devour a small animal in days.
Rah-Rah signaled for the occupants of the vehicles to cut some slack on the chains tied to dude’s legs and arms. The guy was lowered back into the ant bed. He squirmed and pleaded for his life, mentioning something about his mother several times.
“Okay, talk nigga!” Rah-Rah shouted as he squatted down next to Adrienne.
“It was G’s idea, him and Bear.”
I inched closer. I could hardly hear him above the roar of the motors and the music they were playing to drown out what was going on.
Suddenly, there was a cold chill in the air, so I folded my arms over my chest. That’s when I looked over and caught Mellow staring at me. He walked over and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder and I rested my head on his chest.
“You don’t have to watch this. You’ve been through enough today,” he said into my hair and kissed me on my cheek. I gave him a wary shrug.
“I got to, I don’t have choice,” my voice quivered.
That’s when I felt Shamika come stand close to me. She was also shivering in the night air. I couldn’t help but wonder whether it was from the cold or if she was just that scared.
“…ohhh, it was G’s idea. He planned everything.”
Adrienne screamed as
