Joelle Foster
It had been a few hours since Di’Aundrie left me at my apartment, and I was starting to get worried. He looked angry about something but wouldn’t tell me what. I had no idea why he was asking me if any men tried to talk to me today. Something was going on with him and it had me scared.
When I heard my bedroom door open, I jumped up.
“Baby, are you okay?” I asked Di’Aundrie and ran over to him.
I hugged him, and he held me tightly in his arms. The way he held me felt off, and my chest started to tighten.
“What’s wrong? What happened?” I panicked.
Without saying a word, he took my hand and led me to my bed. He sat down first and then pulled me onto his lap.
He dropped his head and sighed.
“Before my dad was killed, I was about to get into a business deal with my plug. He offered me his empire and his daughter to marry. I was gonna accept it until my dad was killed. I thought since I walked away, the shit was over,” he said and then looked up at me.
“For the past few weeks, he’s been calling me again. Those men outside of the mansion were his men.”
I gasped.
“Today, when I came to pick you up, there were two more of his men outside.”
My heart started to race, and I didn’t know why.
“Is that why you asked me if any strange men spoke to me today?” I asked, and he nodded.
“I went there to tell him to back up. I was going to kill him,” he said and then stopped.
“So, what happened?”
“It wasn’t Messiah who killed my dad. It was this man.”
My hand shot up to my mouth.
“Baby, no,” I said, and Di nodded.
“I wanted to kill him, but I couldn’t. He had photographs of my mother, Joelle. He has someone following her, and if I don’t do what he wants, he’s going to kill her.”
My mouth dropped.
“Well, what does he want?”
“For me to do what I agreed to last year. Marry his daughter and take over.” He sighed. “I should have killed Matias a long ass fucking time ago.”
“Wait, what? Did you say Matias?” I asked, and he nodded. “I know that name, Di’Aundrie.”
But how?
And then I remembered. “He was at my house talking to my dad!”
“At your house?”
“He’s a tall, slim, Cuban looking man with wavy black hair, isn’t he?” I asked just to make sure, and Di’Aundrie nodded.
“He was at my house with my dad the night I got into that big fight with him and went to Messiah’s condo.”
“But why the fuck would he be at your house talking to your pops when he offered to help me kill him?”
I frowned, but I knew why.
“He was playing both sides.”
He must have wanted my dad to step down, and when he wouldn’t, he sent Konvict after him.
I looked at Di’Aundrie.
“They tried to play you, so you’re gonna play them instead,” I said.
“How?”
“You’re gonna do every-fucking-thing he asks you to do. Marry that hoe, take over, and you’re gonna fuck that bitch like she’s me. And when you gain their trust, you take them the fuck out!”
They had me and life fucked up if they thought they were gonna play my man, Dad, and Ms. Mona.
“You do what you need to do, Di’Aundrie. I know who you are, and I have faith in you. Don’t worry about me. I will be here waiting when you come back. Show them who the fuck you are, and Ms. Mona isn’t someone to play with!”
Fuck them. My parents were gone, but I had a new family that I would die protecting. They weren’t ready for my nigga! He was a damn gangsta!
Di’Aundrie looked at me and then smiled widely.
“This is why I ain’t ever fucking leaving you alone! You gonna be my wife, I bet your ass,” he said before kissing me passionately.
I had on a pair of sleep shorts, and he slipped his finger inside before pushing it into me.
“Ohhh, you got no panties on, baby.” He groaned, and I nodded.
“I was waiting for you.”
I could barely talk from how good he was working his finger deeply into me.
He laid me back on my bed and pulled my shorts down my body.
“How the fuck am I gonna stay away from you?” he whispered, letting me know that bitch told him to.
“Di’Aundrie, you better not get that bitch pregnant, or we gonna have problems,” I said.
The last thing I wanted was my nigga fucking another bitch, but I knew that the quickest way for a woman to fall for a nigga was for him to fuck her. So, I would take that shit, but I wasn’t accepting a whole ass baby.
Di’Aundrie unzipped his pants, pushed them down, and climbed between my legs. I hissed in pleasure when he pushed inside of me.
“You’re the only one I want to carry my seeds and the only woman I want to taste my dick raw,” he said as he slowly started winding his hips into me.
Knowing that it would be a long time before we saw each other again, we made love like we never made love before.
Tears fell from my eyes the whole time he was inside of me. I knew that I was gonna miss him, but I couldn’t let anything happen to Ms Mona over me. All I could do was pray that he came back to me sooner than later.
“I love you so much, Joelle, and I’m gonna come back for you. I promise. And after I deal with them, I’m gonna find Messiah and make him pay for the things he did to you,” he said as he kissed down my back, making sure to let his lips linger on every scar I had.
When he was finished, I rolled over and looked at him.
“I bought you something,” he said before picking up his pants and taking something out of the pocket to show me.
I smiled when I saw that he had bought me a bracelet with a huge, pear shaped diamond.
“Promise me that you won’t ever take it off. While I’m gone, I need you to wear this to know that I’m still with you.”
I smiled up at him and said, “I promise.”
He put it on my wrist, and after thanking him with a few kisses on the lips, I wrapped my arms around him and fell asleep, enjoying the last few hours we had together.
Because tomorrow, he was gonna be Konvict!

It had been only two days since Di’Aundrie left to go back and work for Matias, and I had been feeling sick ever since. I was missing him so much already that it was causing me to vomit. I was stressed out, but I knew I had to hold it together for him. He wouldn’t want me stressing out and falling apart. I knew he was counting on me to hold it down, and that’s what I was going to do.
My cell rang, and although I knew it wasn’t Di’Aundrie—because like I suspected, that bitch told him he couldn’t even call me, or she was gonna kill his mother—I was still hopeful that it was him.
But when I saw it was Lisa, I quickly answered.
“Oh my god, girl, are you okay? I’ve been calling you, and you haven’t been to work! Are you okay?” I rambled.
When I went to work two days ago, they told me that Lisa had left. No explanation or anything, and I had been calling her ever since without an answer.
She sniveled.
“I’m sorry, girl. Just so much going on. My boyfriend started beating on me,” she said, and my jaw tightened.
“What? Oh, hell nah.”
“It’s just been crazy. I’m sorry to put this on you, but are you free? I just really want to be around friends right now.”
“No, of course. Come to my apartment. I’m here,” I told her before giving her my address.
“Okay, thanks, Joelle. I’m going to make my way over now.”
We ended the call, and I went to my kitchen to see what I could make us to eat.
Less than an hour later, my buzzer went off. I dried my hands on some paper towels and went to answer the door.
As soon as I did, Lisa stepped inside and hugged me.
“I’m so sorry,” I said rubbing her back as she cried on my shoulder. “Fuck that nigga, he’s not worth it!”
We stayed hugged up for a second before I closed the door behind her and led her to my couch.
“Would you like something to drink?”
“Yes, please. Anything strong,” she said, and I went into the kitchen to get that.
I took down two glasses, filled them with ice, and then poured Hennessey into both.
“I wasn’t sure what you wanted to eat, so I made chicken alfredo,” I called out as I made my way out of the kitchen.
“Oh my god!”
The glasses slipped from my hands when I walked into my living room and saw Messiah sitting on my couch.
He looked up at me and smiled.
“I’ve missed you, baby,” he said, sending cold shivers down my spine.
“How did you find me?”
Just as I asked that, Lisa stood to her feet. Her tears were replaced with a huge smile on her face.
“Did you really think I didn’t know who you are, bitch?” she asked me, and I frowned. “Now that I have Konvict right where I need him, I need to make sure he can’t ever come back for you.”
“Wait, what? You kno
