Thintastic Drinks....Really?
There are a ton of reasons that people write books and this one is can be pinned down to one simple fact. Drinking yummy alcoholic beverages makes people fat… And no matter how many things people are willing to give up too stay looking fabulous, alcohol usually isn’t one of them!
So after spending 20 years of serving drinks behind a bar and watching my friends and myself expand our waist line, I decided to do something about it. With much research, education and testing drink recipes with my friends, I compiled 250 low calorie drinks for you to enjoy. I hope you have as much fun as we did trying out these Thintastic Drinks. Cheers!

The goal of providing caloric information in this book is to allow people who are monitoring the calories they consume, the ability to include alcoholic beverages in their daily diet or routine. About this Book
1. The drink recipes in this book are meant to be easy to make. Most items can be found at a local grocery store or liquor store. Specialty syrups, mixers, and jiggers can be found at www.Thintastic-Drinks.com if they are unavailable in your area.
2. This book was written to assist people trying to reduce their caloric intake while living a normal life. Please do not use it as an excuse to drink more alcohol, and please don’t drink and drive!
3. Use a measurement jigger for all recipes to keep accurate track of your calories.
4. Always use the best ingredients.
5. Everyone has different taste preferences. If a recipe is too sweet or tart adjust the ingredients slightly and try, try again. Make it your own!
6. Names of drinks are based on region and the creator’s imagination. If you like a recipe in this book, write it down and take it to your favorite bartender to see if they can make it. Don’t assume they will know how to make it. Let them see the recipe so they can make it just the way you like it!

Whether you drink it neat, chilled, or with a mixer, most people have felt this way at least once in their life. Due to its lack of odor, color, and taste, Vodka is one of the best liquors to add to a variety of mixers. It is considered one of the most popular spirits in the United States, and is a vital key to a well-stocked bar. With a bottle of Vodka, a few additional ingredients, and some creativity you can make an assortment of cocktails for everyone to enjoy.
Fun Facts and History:
Originating in Eastern Europe, the word Vodka translates to water in most Slavic languages. Pronounced in Russian as 'voda' or, as the Poles would say 'woda', it translates affectionately as “dear little water”.
Russians and Poles argue who was the first to distill and produce Vodka. However, most historians give Russia the credit. But no matter who was the first to make Vodka, the early manufacturing methods were unsophisticated and contained impurities. To mask these contaminants, distillers added fruits, spices, and herbs to the Vodka so it could be consumed. It wasn’t until distillation was improved with charcoal in the 18 th century that Vodka was expected to be colorless, tasteless and odorless.
Vodka didn’t take off in the United States until 1946 when the owner of the Cock 'n' Bull restaurant in Los Angeles mixed Smirnoff Vodka with some Ginger Beer he had in stock and the “Moscow Mule” was born.
In 1962 agent 007 ordered his Vodka Martini shaken not stirred and instantly Vodka was to be the number one spirit for the next 50 years.
In 1986 Absolut Vodka pioneered the distilled flavored vodka revolution by introducing Absolut Peppar to the United States for the ever so popular Bloody Mary. They followed this success with Citron (1988), Kurant (1992), Mandarin (1999), Vanilla (2003), Raspberri (2004), and Peach (2005). There are now over 40 flavors of vodkas on the market today. We now flavor them for variety rather than to hide the impurities they once had.
